I keep debating wether to do this or not!

I have a load of gift vouchers for HMV (to cover the cost of the big bundle) but if I get one I still have to get some games at £50 a pop and then what do I do with the X-Box`s and games I already have?

I know I can play them still but how long is it before getting a new format that you go back to an old one......months/years

I used to be indecisive but now I`m not so sure :smt042

So has anyone already pre-ordered one or are we all waiting to see what the general consensus is before taking the plunge (or a price drop)

    Please help me ;)

Personally I'm waiting till the new year/price drop etc. I've so many of this gen's classics to do yet (DMC3, MGS3, Biohazard4 etc) and with a few titles due out for the current gen before the end of the year that tickle my fancy..well I'm more than catered for.

Plus there's never that many good launch titles (by that I mean titles that you will still be enjoying/heralding as classics say 3 years into the 360's life).

I will have to turn a blind eye to PD Zero though..which could (ie will) be very hard to do (plus its Christmas soon too so there's the potential to be given one I suppose)

You get one, and then we can see just how near to each other we live when I drive over to check it works ok in 2 player!

I have one pre-ordered over at Gameplay, but to be honest I don't know if I want it or not, I pre-ordered it so I have the choice (was a free pre-order) and i still have time to cancel the order if I so choose...

Its odd that I'm not more excited about its release, I honestly couldnt give a crap about it, and I think i only pre-ordered it for the "i gots it" bragging rights, which is pretty sad :/

    meh..

That sounds like a good enough reason to get one :smt042

Working on a free copy of PGR3 from Bizarre but nothing back yet

Perfect Dark may be the other one to get

Can just see the wife having a fit at "all those CD`s you could have bought me"

I don`t know if the price will drop to dramatically for quite some time so do I don`t I?

Just saw this while posting the other message

I tend to feel the same a bit

No doubt one will be forthcoming but I just don`t know.

Nothing getting me soiling my underwear to get one................the only thing that I will be excited about is Revolution.

Am I getting old now as I am not bothered about gaming?

I'm the same, I can't wait for the Rev, and im angry that its gonna be 8months at least till we see it (in an interview Iwata apparently said "after april" and "trying to get it out is as many countries possible at the same time" which is nice)

I also worry, that I'm getting older and not bothered with gaming, having said that im only 22, but i really am getting less and less interested, i just really can't be arsed... its odd and a little bit scary.. haha

I am waiting until the first/third proce drop, I can't warrant spending more than £199 on something until there's at least 4 games I really want to play.

To get a Jap one at launch (which I think are all special launch commemoration outer boxes - not sure) it is gonna hit me for 300-330 quid without games - games all 50ish each. If I get a scholorship this term that should cut my fees enough to afford one - but still - I could get a ton of rare stuff for some of my fav consoles instead. Long way to go to play DOA4, Enchanted arm and oh wait no, nothing else.

I'm just not excited, its not an anti microsoft thing, or even the fact that I have 2 Xbox both with crap drives, it is just a lack of games that float my boat. I will get one in the next 6 months, just has to be the right price, I'm hoping the lack of demand on the import side of things will lower import prices.

  12. I don't have one reserved, although I'm very interested in seeing how Senko No Ronde and DOA4 turn out. I just don't have the money for something like the 360 (even the Core system, which is the one I would have most likely purchased, anyways. Stupid wireless controllers...) I'm content with waiting for a price drop or two, and to see what happens with the lineup of games.
Going to stand in line with a friend for the midnight opening when he picks up his system, though, so that ought to be fun.

It's most likely not going to work like that. Most retail outlets closed their preorders over a month ago, and the volume of preorders here alone means that most of the gaming outlets and whathaveyou are unable to guarantee that everyone who had a preorder will get their system on launch night. The Gamestop where I used to work was able to guarantee that people who preordered later in the summer would have their units by Christmas, but that was all they could really promise. So if you're looking to pick one up, it would behoove you to try and find a place still accepting preorders.

don't worry, i'm losing interest in video games too, and the next gen doesn't apeal me at all (apart of the revolution, as you all know by now), and i'm not over 20 yet.

it's just the market that gets dull, and the same formula that is repeated over and over again. Seriously, apart of better graphics, what will the xbox 360 and ps3 offer that couldn't be done on the last gen? People say ''Biger worlds! Better IA!, ...'' But between us, that's what we said about last gen too, and we saw the result... that wasn't so impressive for more than 80 percent of the time.

my pressure is on Nintendo's shoulders now, and i hope they'll deliver, otherwise i may retire earlier than what i thought when i was a kid ( i always thought i would play video games forever)

you mean like the $689 bundle walmart.com had? I saw that ebgames and gamestop had some pretty dumb ones too. Gamestop actually only supposedly has bundles of which $1999 is the lowest. Whatever. I'm not going to pay over a grand for a dumbass preorder bundle. I question the legitimacy of every single major vendor of xbox 360's supposedly selling out...except in the excessively expensive bundles which are now the only availible preorder options on their sites.

Really? The Gamestop I worked at stopped guaranteeing systems for Christmas back in June, and it's not a really big Gamestop either.

Now if senko no ronde was launch I would have no choice but to buy it. That is a truly inspired game, played a couple of tournements in Japan and it was amazing. My new succesor to virtual on! Though why that is going out on the 360 I do not know. Surely the ps2/GC/DC could handle it and then some.

I really don't see the 360 getting big in Japan, after all magatama and otogi were made for the japanese market and neither shifted many copies despite the big names on board. So that means it will possibly be a couple of niche titles that probably could run on the ps2 - like senko no ronde. Or will probably be ported to the ps3. DOA will always be on the most powerful console - says mr team ninja. So DOA4 hardcore for the PS3 anyone. Oh well, this is just a japanese import view of it. I'm sure it will do well in america and europe to a certain extent, so don't let me rain on your proverbial parade.

I've found that preordering systems in the US is a sucker's game. The specialized stores like Gamestop take to many preorders to guarantee at launch. The other major retailers like Target and Wal-Mart generally don't take preorders and if they do it's because the person you're talking to doesn't know what they're doing and won't remember at launch. Finally putting money down on a system and having them say you’ll get it by Christmas isn’t a preorder. It’s a backorder.
