I've talked to two retailers in the UK (one huge , one small(4 shops)) and both said they've been given no promises on numbers....they have been speculatively given figures but nothing firm and neither of them were pretending to say they could guarentee anything. Based on the chaos last year for PS2s in the UK I think consumers closer to the time may remember the fiasco and buy early as possible. This may drain the shops of them prematurely in december in the UK. Just a theory....
Interestng response`s here General consensus appears to be not to bother until a price drop / more AAA games. And quite a few Revolution remarks! I am still tempted to get one though as if I am going to get one why not get one at launch (if possible) and 1,2,3 games....hammer the new LIVE................play the crap out of them for a few months then back to older formats and new games...........it seems a shame to waste these vouchers on CD`s/DVD`s or old format stuff.
I'd love one but I'll wait for Resident Evil 5, I'm interested by Ridge Racer also but that 's about it. To be perfectly honest, I'm hoping to learn on Revolution soon to make my decision on next gen, PS3 is interesting but not compulsory since Resident Evil is on Xbox 360 also... Sabre
That settles it Going to go to an HMV over the next few days and pre-order one as long as they can guarantee one on the 2nd!
I'm going to wait for a price drop or until something catches me that I need to get the system for. I am looking more forward to the revolution launch. Then again, my roommate is getting a 360 at launch so I'll still have access to one in the meantime. :no Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I really hope you're kidding
Told ya I was ready. The core system definatly is crap, I cant see why anyone would waste their cash unless they will really be that strapped for money. (Which happens)
my friend works at a games store so I got him to put one aside for me hopefully ill get it a few days before official release, but its gonna be a big hit on my wallet im keeping about £400 aside good thing is my m8s are all gonna get a different game each so guess we can borrow each others
the controller doesn't seem confortable, what do you think about it? anyway, like you said, the core system is really a bad deal, since you need to buy a 64mb memory card with it, so you save a couple of bucks over the super-duper bundle, but for what you miss, it isn't worth mentionning.
I'm going to wait. Nothing says "must have" yet. It'll be six months until dead rising comes out, the odds of me getting one at the pawn shop are pretty high.
The controller is actually quite comfortable. My only complaint is that you can't map the 360 button to any functions when using it on the PC. -hl718
I don't think I'll be getting an XBOX 360, or PS3, or Revolution any time soon... unless it's for free.
I have three (w/HD) pre-ordered for first day release. After seeing what happened with the PS2's release and how quickly a lot of places ran out of pre-orders, I figure I will try the eBay game with the extra two. Worst case scenario: I sell them at face value and get my money back.
I'm interested to see how long it will take the modders to crack these mofos. $60 a game is a no go for me.
Eh, 60 bucks is still less then some N64 game were. The controller is extremely comfortable. It easily beats the the PS2-GC-Xbox ones. To compare it with a saturn one would be a bit harsh without actually having the system
I'm kind of worried about the controller. My brother has played with one, and he said it was very comfortable. However, he has gianormous hands (he's about 6'7") and loves the original Xbox controller. I hate the original. It's about as comfortable as the Dreamcast controller IMO. I'm looking forward to the Revo the most. I'm sick of the same old games that get released these days, and I believe the new controller will open up a new experience. I'll probably get a PS3 just for my husband to play Metal Gear Solid 4. As for 360, expect me to buy it when it's cheap like I did with the current Xbox. I just don't see anything I want. FPSes and Oblivion. Whoop-de-doo. DOA4 looks cool, but like Warakia mentioned, Team Ninja might port it to PS3 like they did with DOA2 and PS2.
