I'd like to but I'd have to use "our" money rather than "my" money because they are quite expensive. Some how I don't think I could really hide them from the wife  It was an ex-display model with only 1200km on the clock (about 745 miles). THey changed all the wipers, carpets, and even seat covers so that it looked brand new for when it arrived. The cost was a straight 1 million yen after all the added taxes and shipping down to me. It came from Tokyo and I live 500 miles or so away. Still on the back of a truck it only cost 40'000 yen but I did have to wait 1 month. What have you got? I love seeing what people drive. Yakumo
You know, I've never bothered to check. A full tank will get me to and from work for a full week with the aircon on. That's 50 litres but I do work a good 1 hour 15 minutes away. Yakumo
well at the beginning of the year it was 123 yen, then 143 yen, then 150 yen and now a fucking joke at 177 yen! The Japanese government are blaming the US apparently. 177 yen is 1.64 USD. Still, not as bad as the poor buggers in the UK  So about a month I spent about 30'000 to 35'000 on petrol however my shitty company will only pay me up to 15'000 per month. in traveling expenses. yakumo
Just my gut feeling (no proof) but I have a sneaking suspicion that in a year or two we will see a number of people doing the perp walk to federal court over these gas prices. As much as these prices hurt now though I think in the end it will be for the better since nothing seems to get done these days until it starts to hit people in the wallet.
Around $7 a gallon, sucks no doubt, but still lower than europe: soon it will be cheaper to run you car on grinded kitties rather than gas over there:lol:
Here is my car, i mean SUV: My old car (Ford Taurus) blew a headgasket. What a piece of shit it was. This will last me a good 3 years or until I can afford a new car. This one was given to me from my parents. It is much more reliable, and its gas mileage is not that much lower than what I got from my old car. Luckily I do a lot of highway driving. It's a V6 4.3L. Can haul a good 2 tons as my parents used it to haul their 2-ton boat. My stepdad just bought a V8 Toyota Tundra (for the boat). Has a nice 4L V8 and gets more mileage than my SUV lol.
So, you need to haul stuff around? or drive on dirt roads? 'Cause if you dont, and money is your problem I say sell that thing and get a small used car, or at least a miniSUV (like a CRV or a Rav4) or something with more MPGs.
SUV's are so hard to sell right now I doubt the trade value would get something as nice as what he is driving now.
I got my car for 'free' pretty much. Can't afford a car payment as I'm currently in school and living on my own. I just need something reliable and I can live with the increase in gas consumption. Will come in handy when I move though. I thought about selling it, but I will probably get a lower amount in trade-in value than it would have gotten 3 years ago. That's why I'll most likely continue to own it even after I buy a new car as it will not be worth selling/trading. Besides, rugged SUVs are chickmagnets for hot southern girls.
