So a psn release could be coming to the west then, that's all I really gauge from this.

Now that would not surprise me really. They pull it use it to do a PSN version or better yet that 90% done they stated they had get finished for the PSP.
Then PSP and Vita will have an official release
All I hope is that SE leaves Sky alone. Not right he did good for PR for game and they come after him and the team members

That would be extremely unlikely - a patch, by definition, is a list of all the things that have been changed from the original. About the only way you could get original code in there would be if someone took an existing routine and rebased it to some other location - which is something that is generally avoided exactly because it's getting into a difficult area in copyright terms.

The fact that you don't need to distribute the original code was one of the reasons that patches were developed in the first place.

    hmm?!
if sqaure-onyx did pull the patch just to steal the homebrew community work and par it off as their own creation/IDEA, wouldn't be the first time a CORPORATION (yes, CORP because it's not houses anymore, just $$$) has done it.
m$, i'm looking in your direction regarding the xbox original for one example, STEALING PD work (linux related i believe) integrating it into os and copyrighting the build that was based on freeware codes, they make me puke. (NEVER bought any m$ $hit at retail new, not since the CBM days)
    ...
still, i'm not worried the 'end result' will be denied to 'fans' en masse, because even if it is, the crackers WILL sprout out of the woodwork and do their thing, just to stick it to the...CORPS...i mean 'commercial devs'...and i use the term 'developer' VERY fuckin loo$ely! (they knew what they got into, use your voice and make your choice. just because you're under duress/CONTRACT, doesn't mean you carry out orders without question. you chose to work for them, make a stand, or go to the darkside? the latter makes you a KNOWN QUANTITY, and not for the best.)
    ...
it's thanks to the crackers things get done and progresses...

This patch's install instructions tell a different tale. It claims to only need either one of the ISOs. If true then it includes the data to build a full joined image.

They are the new SNK Playmore. I still have nightmares with the Final Fantasy VI reissue for Android, immense piece of junk.

It depends on how it was laid out - a lot of those multiple disc games have then engine and all the assets on every disc - the only thing that varies is the script. In that case, if you had created a complete script file you could use either disc to supply the engine and assets.

I have no idea if they did this, but it's certainly a possibility.

As long as we get a FFXII HD remaster I have no complaints.

Bought Chrono Trigger... what a garbage! Awful controls and that DRM. I didn't even tried to crack it, just erased that POS for good.

Let's remember Square Enix is a combination of a company that released a pathetically simple RPG (basically a Zelda rip-off, but nowhere near as good) instead of releasing HALF OF THE FINAL FANTASY GAMES THAT HAD COME OUT IN JAPAN, and then wondered why JRPGs weren't popular in the West, and a company that literally closed their North American offices in 1995 because they didn't want their games being released stateside.

SE has a nice long track record of shitting on non-Japanese fluent people.

yea, it seems that it's fanbase gets screwed at every turn but as soon a small nugget of nice is given all is forgotten by it's fanbase to start the cycle a-new.

I'm a fan of very specific things when it comes to Square, if they produce something I like I'll buy it, otherwise I wont. It's not that all was forgotten, it's just that all was ignored and they didn't get money for things that I didn't think deserved it. FFXII HD remaster would get my money instantly, FFX HD remaster wasn't my cup of tea. Nor was FFXIII, after being so disappointed with the 360 release I decided against supporting the rest of the series. Shutting down a fan translation of FFT-0 so they can bring their own product to wider audiences is well within their rights, I have no gripes with that at all. And anyway, why are people complaining? Is this thing not available already? It's not like people didn't have an opportunity to get it.

That legitimately sounds like an abusive relationship.
