Why Frieza doesn't say "Papa" not "Otōsan お父さん" ??

The best character I think not I would say raditz before I would frieza he was just plain annoying. Future Trunks and Gogeta would be my top pics for dbz followed by Vegeta ,Goku and Piccolo.

Anywho, while DBZ is originally written in Japanese. I'm pretty sure realistically Frieza wouldn't be speaking Japanese.

But i'm sure there is a more logical explanation.

Something to do with formalities and whatnot.

I've heard people say "papa" and other stuff instead of the usual things you may hear in Japanese. I've never really wondered about it.

 

Japanese kids say papa and mama just like English speaking kids do and I'm sure as in other languages. My son calls me dada.

Is it just me or is the Japanese in Chobits REALLY REALLY Basic?

I don't even have to have the subtitles on to know what they're talking about and I only had 6 months of Japanese.

I almost think with all the underwear and porn jokes that children wrote the script.

 

I've never seen Chobits but I wouldn't be surprised if it was basic. Basic anime IS a good listening subject as long as they use normal Japanese. Something like Sazae-san is good for people wanting to learn.

I'll have to revist more anime now that I know some Japanese and see how basic they are in some VS others.

Now might be a good time for me to finally revisit Sailor Moon

I really like High School of the Dead. It's a basic western Zombie Story with stupid anime cleche's

 

I am patiently waiting for the dub of Roberta's Blood Trail and the show [C]: also has my interest.

 

I watch very few shows dubbed, Trigun, Lain, Cowboy Bebop (which I also watch subbed I can switch between the two and not care) and Hellsing I think that's pretty much it.

 

Black Lagoon's dub is better by most accounts than the original VO.
