Thing is to even get access to ebay again, I'd have to put the account and all in my mothers name.

That sucks. I don't really use Ebay though.

As for the "taxes" thing. Maddhatter -- you think the Feds won't look at a Paypal account? That money is just as taxable as money coming through w/ an entity w/ a vendor's license. Even if they don't monitor the Paypal account, you gotta pull it out sometime. I netted about $10k my first year of Ebaying from Japan... most of it payed through paypal... and all of it reported.

If I move back to Japan, I will definitely open a Limited Partnership, regardless of where I work. I sold enough games to warrant it. I kind of inherited a kick ass accountant as well. I paid very little the last two years and have made way more than I ever have thanks to getting fired and bonuses.

Sounds like what happened to me...I must say, Paypal has one of the shittiest ways of resolving issues. My old paypal account was locked when I was in the middle of 7 transactions due to it having some info that was linked to a friends account that was banned due to a customer complaint on his account (Long and complicated story).

Anywho, oddly enough, all of the money I payed for those transactions through my bank account were sent back to my paypal account, even though it said it was automatically sent to them several days ago. Since I had no way to pay the auctions because it was locked up in my paypal account, people started to file complaints on ebay and leave negative feedback.

Whats worse, one of the sellers had already sent out on of the auctions, and flipped out when the money was taken back out of his account by paypal, even though it said it already went through (Had to deal with multiple phonecalls of him flipping out on me, various angry emails from him, even refusing to take the items back when I tried to send it back to him). Needless to say, my old ebay account was banned.

Problem is, $300 was locked in paypal, and they wanted me to fix any desputes I had. I ended all the desputes that were on my account, yet it was still locked and I couldn't return my money into the account. The morons at paypal said I would also fix the problems on my friends account, since it was linked to mine (and he couldn't even access his account anymore).

In the end, the $300 stayed in the account for 6 months before they returned it to me in January of this year, which I used to buy my gaming computer. However, I still lost my paypal and ebay accounts.

I know that businesses pay less taxes than common folk!! Especially if you know your stuff! What I thought is that having that type of credit card processing would cost some extra money. These days you have to screw the government if you want to have extra money. I'm going to minor in Accounting if I want to firgure out how to pay off my future student loans :p.

Hey Kevin, just keep on'em, don't give up, etc.

I say we start a class action lawsuit against paypal. Or find a politician to make this his pet project. You know, bring some heat down on'em.

In the end you/we would all get more money from and do more damage to Paypal if seperate lawsuits were filed and everyone rejected a class action.
Class action lawsuits are only good for two of the parties involved, the lawyers and the company getting sued.

I myself have not been affected, I'm glad for that.

But I'll help with all I can to find a way we can fuck these bastard thieves back.

    Let's take action!

Who else has had problems? Let's all get together and start some serious shit!

PayPal will get hit with a class action in the next few years. The ambulance chasers are busy with the pharmaceutical industry right now. Give them time.

IIRC, there was a class-action suit filed against paypal a few years ago. I think they settled out of court. You can probably find out more about this on paypalsucks. I think I read about it there a while ago.

Yes PayPal is definitely not the service it was when it first started up. Due to Kevin's problems with PP, I have decided never to link any accounts or use it to sell stuff.

The inept and/or 'I didn't loose that much money, so I don't want to bother/make trouble' mindset today is what is ruining society. From PP to Ebay, from LCD pixel issues to substandard items. People are so programmed and are merely sheep that eat and sleep, while the mainstream tells them what to buy and what to do.

    Ugh, that sucks. :(

That is seriously something you should do. The BBB has pulled their seal/approval before and would probably do it again if they had enough complaints.

I fortunately haven't been burned by PayPal yet but the shit you're going through is ridiculous.

I haven't had any problems with Paypal, but then again, I've only bought small items. I don't think I'd ever sell with it, considering how many idiots there are in the world who would try and rip you off (saying the item never arrived, etc.).

Check around for merchant accounts. I did some research recently for a different project. The charges are actually cheaper than Paypal (unless you do $100,000 a month at Paypal).
