Or you could just release it like many of us have with our collections and consider it a good deed. (shrugs)

Another thing to think about is that if you do not make something fully public and only offer it to only people who donate, some disgruntled jerk who gives you a 1 dollar donation is likely going to take the files and try to make money on some other site anyway. If it is known to be publicly available it shuts down the majority of people trying to resell it.

Or even worse yet someone decides they will rat your PC and get the files before you can even release them to those who donated.

As said by others , its not going to happen.
Release it, show it off, whatever you wish but rules are rules and exceptions will not be made.

 

The rules aren't changing. Community releases are a tough sell even when you are a trusted community member, a relatively unknown with a dubious history isn't going to win any fans. Either way, the decision was made.
