Wii will include a photo channel, enabling users to display their digital photos through the console. It will also boast regularly updated news and weather channels. In addition, the system will ship with the Opera Web browser, enabling users to connect online. One of the channels available on Wii is called the "Mii Channel." Here, players can customize avatars by selecting from a variety of face shapes, hair styles, color schemes, and so on. The hook is that these avatars can not only be stored on the console itself, they can also be transfered to the Wii remote itself -- presumably so players can easily access their personalized characters and take them with them when playing against friends. Where`s the bloody European launch OH: http://www.nintendo-europe.com/NOE/en/GB/news/article.do?elementId=V-nr-Y09dfulRzUxI8nWtQpJgSjVaHrn Hopefully they will tell something then
nintendo is pissing me as much as sony.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 250$ = 250 euros? aaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
The original DS launched on a Sunday, and I think the Lite might have as well in the US. Personally I'd much rather the price be $200 and not included the Wii Sports, like the Japanese release.
This "Mii Channel" thing has potential, but I would have been happier if they let you use an actual picture of yourself (or family or whatever) from an SD card and then post it on the 3d model! So an actual pic of your face or whoever you want could be there! They did it with Talent Studio on 64DD, im sure they could have easily done that on the "Mii Channel". Oh well, maybe on a firmware update or something. I'm still happy they did it now they just have to take it foward! Look at this hunk! (Talent Studio) It's Iwatta?! (Mii Channel)
:Girl:the wii is making me so excited, I can't wait:Girl: I m trying to promote the Wii's easy internet-access and weather forecast crap to my parents, and they re falling for it. Hell I m ready to shell out 250 just to get them a Wii. Call me mad , but I want to get my old folks into gaming - Better late than never.
And still no info on the european prices and release dates, knowing how it goes the Wii will propably be 249 euro's and games 50 euro's which is a rip-off as always.
On one hand, I'm dissapointed it's 250 On the other, well, I was actually planing to get Wii sports! It's a shame Nintendo could not give the game away for free. Because the japanese version of the console is cheaper without Wii sports, so I guess they are actually adding the price of Wii sports to the american bundle. Nintendo, as usual, never sells at a loss Still, 250 is a great price for me.
Let's just hope they get third party support this time around, and take some risks on new content and not just the same old rehashed franchises. I hope Sega support for the console is high. It would seem the perfect match to me
No mario, price tag still high for a console thats meant to be really afordable and apart from Zelda not much else looking interesting. Oh and i guess the Uk will get shafted too.
I see several 16:9 aspect ratio screens. Will I be able to play the Wii if I have a regular 4:3 TV with good old regular Composite video? This may be an idiotic question, but I have that doubt.
All first party games support widescreen im fairly sure the Press Release says. I dont think its 16:9 only
