"Honestly FF blows" - what a lovely way to describe 13 of the best gaming experiences I have ever had. (No I'm not going to tell you which 13) "big-ass milk cow" or not I'm sure you will not "deny all the work, ideas and imagination that went into making" this series of games? "And about FF, dude we all know that series has a HUGE appeal among anime obssesive people and the emo-kind" - AND the point would be? What those kind of people are not allowed to play and enjoy games now?
Warakia, I'm just using the same items xerdo pwerko did, that's all. I could add some other more meaningful problems but that would be out of context. As I say before, I dont like GTA, but it's for the 2000 decade what mario was for the 80s, sonic for the early 90s and MGS (to name one very popular game) to the late 90s. When we hit 40 or 50 and kids today hit 20 and 30 they'll be the gamers talking in forum like this one, and they'll be talking about how great GTA was, simply becos it was the game that brought them into gaming. As I say before, its all about the point of view of every single gamer...
To me, GTA is more like the Mortal Kombat of the early 90's. Clearly there's a leap technologically between the two, but they have the same sensationalist attraction. That may be a bit unfair, GTA certainly has an impressive amount of work put into the cities, and the car physics is decent. Without the controversial content I wonder how much attention the game would have got, though. I don't really understand why you say you don't like GTA when you also said that you spent the last week playing through GTA:SA. If you don't like it, why play it?
Nice point, let's say the people cant be run over (like in crazy taxi) nor shot, only criminals and objetives can. But the games keeps the acid sense of humor. Then it would still be popular, although not that much. There's the possibility that it ends up being pretty respected among the hardcore gamer group (us) and even a cult game like grim fandango. Well I didn't I played it like a year ago and leaved it since it was kinda boring, then last week my Battlefield2 didn't work (PC) and I was bored and with plenty of free time so I decided to hit the game just to see where I was at, and it turns out that there was only 5 missions left to get the ending (there's others too, but I wont bother to complete it) so I just played to see the ending (pretty lame actually, Vice City's was better). On the other hand, I'm a true gamer (as in no fanboyism) and I play everything I can. I even played a good number of RPGs even thought I dont like the genre at all.
