I have a working Dreamcast 2. it was going to be revolutionary it has 2 disc drives and 8 controller ports
I think the only issue here is that it seems unlikely for someone to lose something so rare and valuable. If someone from Nintendo offered to sell the original Ura Zelda, then happened to lose it, it would seem a bit suspicious. Of course the person may have been telling the truth, or they may have been bullshitting. Sadly there is no way of knowing if the person really had it, but I wouldn't call everyone here assholes just because they believe the guy was full of it. I'm sure there have been many instances of people who claimed to have a "SUPER RARE PROTOTYPE" of something, but were either lying, or were just ignorant of what they actually had. None of this really matters anyway. Arguing about this isn't going to magically make the Neptune appear. Maybe someday, another Neptune will pop up and drx can acquire that one. It's also still possible for the person who lost it to find it. Until then, It's probably best to just move on to other things.
^^ Exactly, I can't understand that either. it's debatable to say there is only one working prototype in the world and this guy LOSES IT?! This isn't just a NES controller drxwas buying, it was a 1 off system. Sounds like bullshit to me  I'm not calling drx a liar, I'm calling the guy he was going to buy it off a liar. We may never see this system...:crying:
You guys all assume the former Sega person gives a shit anymore. A lot of people simply don't. You all are on a website that has had members find unreleased consoles at flea markets. People don't necessarily care as much as you do.
I once had a handheld Saturn prototype that used ST-V-style carts, but I accidentally threw it into a jet engine.
Welcome to the asshole gang  Seems I'm the founding member even though I wasn't first to post a funny joke comment.
I had a virtual girl, it was like virtual boy but it wouldn't turn on the last few days of the month. It was lost when I stopped returning it's phone calls.
You mean the 3DO M2 stuff, no ? I think what happened here is the guy knew he had it on his garage but when he went to look for it, he noticed it was a wooden or plastic mock-up of a Neptune and then he decided to say he lost it. It's the most plausible explication for this.
Miss your Virtual Girl? Wait until the hype vanishes, then buy a used iPhone 4S and get an anti-aging cream on Siri.
I found a prototype XBox controller at a thrift store and others have found similar controllers at GameStops. Unless you had a trained eye for XBox controllers most people would assume nothing special was of this particular model. DRX is trustworthy and I believe him when he says he felt the source was trustworthy. That still doesn't mean the source wasn't full of crap or another possibility. The only thing I'm certain about is that nothing is certain.
Exactly what Im trying to say. Nothing can ever be certain, but if you look at the source, and past experiences on this forum, people should realize that the truth is stranger than fiction. Is it possible that the guy made it up? Sure, but the evidence shows otherwise, and jumping on drx's dick everytime he releases some piece of information or a game isn't going to keep him coming back.
Even people who WOULD own such a thing are human and "misremember", deceive and lie. It wouldn't be the first time someone lost something rare, but people do have a tendency to misplace and/or rediscover valuables to: A) gain status and respect because nonchalant is both "believable" and makes people seem too cool to keep track of their belongings. B) get out of backing up their claims. It shouldn't need to be said that sometimes former employees (in any media industry) like to reminisce with fans, and sometimes a little bullshit enters conversation for effect, fun or just to impress. If you aren't socially inept you probably should notice this in your own life too.
I agree, sometimes it's easy to forget that for some people, seemingly glamarous jobs are just a means to an end. A 9 to 5. I work in TV - Sound glamarous? It's just a job. I could work in a supermarket and derive the same level of job satisfaction. I'm lucky to have found someone who worked in a Computer manufacturer who kept some bits and over the passage of time has no sentimental attachement to them. He isn't a gamer and never will be, and other than his professionalism and dedication to the job - it was just a job. It's easy to wear rose tinted specs when thinking about people working in Games machine manufacturers. I'd imaginge most of the people working at foxcon don't give a shit about part a that they screw to part b, and only a handful actually do and leak pictures of ipod bits etc.
