At least the world cup is more exiting, than Dope de farce ala France.

Man, Argentina got their arses handed back to them even worse than Mexico did. That was fucking awesome!

And Uruguay is the last hope for Latin America, which is fine by me.

I really wanted to see Paraguay advance, but Spain is really, really lucky. They have most certainly not played their best football this cup, and still, they're in the semifinals.

Both matches are going to be really great.

normaly i realy dont care about soccer but 4:0 for germany was too good. I didnt watched it but every time they made a goal i could hear it from everywhere on the street.
    1. goal was loude, 2. Goal was even more loud, third one was not so loud anymore and at the last one it was realy quiet here, it seems they got used to it very fast :D

If Spain doesn't improve their play super-fast or Germany plays really sloppy on Wednesday, then I know who's in the finale for sure. 8D

The game between Paraguay and Spain was a thriller. That goal for Paraguay was perfect, another bad decision. I know it's hard for them, but all that fuzz could easily be avoided by admitting evidence by camera.

And then the scene around minute '55:

    Foul
    penalty spain
    caught!
    penalty paraguay
    goal? shit, doesn't count!
    another penalty paraguay right away
    missed!
    0:0 again!

...for another 25 minutes. It should have been 1:1 all that time, but I suppose that didn't make any difference after all.

That's exactly how they were robbed! Suarez cheated plain and simple. Ask any player on the Ghana team and they will tell you they would take the goal over a penalty everytime!

I am not saying I wouldn't have done the same thing because I would but it still doesn't make it right. I hope he does get extra punishment because cheating is cheating in any context!

Well, that's football. Mexico was happy with Tevez offside goal? Lampard still want that goal against Germany that would tie the game, but the referee didn't thought so. Germany goalkeeper got the ball so fast and kept playing like nothing happened. Would you call that cheating?

Henry's handball-helped goal against Ireland, on the last game of the qualifying... That was cheating. Why? Because everybody saw it, he knew it, and the goal wasn't cancelled, and he didn't got a redcard.

He didn't cheated. He simply did what he had to do. If he let the ball in, Uruguay was off. It's wasn't nice move, but that was the only thing would save his team. It doesn't matter if Ghana players didn't liked it.

By doing it, he got a deserved red card and won't play the next game. Ghana got a penalty kick and their player lost it, that's a shame. I would agree with you on cheating, if the referee didn't sent Suarez off. But he did. This whole discussion about right or wrong, is just because it was the last moment of the 2nd overtime.

We can argue that it wasn't fair play, Ghana should have got the goal,... but it's not on the rules. I still think Lampard's goal and Tevez offside more offensive than Suarez hand safe, simply because on this case, the referee did what he had to do.

I would agree with you on showy play if Brazil had any. But honestly, what show they gave?

Brazil won North Korea 2-1, while Portugal did 7-0 and Côte D'ivoire did 3-0
Brazil won Côte D'ivoire by 3-1, playing a rather shallow footbal, and tied 0-0 with Portugal on a terrible match.
Then they won Chile, something that's commom in the last 10 years or so. When they first met a challenge, against Holland, they lost.

Brazil should play like Germany is playing. With teamplay, talent, fast and intelligent young players. Unfortunately, Kaká is not playing 100% since his injuries and Robinho is a true lie. People think he's a fantastic player, but he's just a failed showman. Luis Fabiano is a great forward but it's no Ronaldo, Romário, Bebeto... Nilmar could have played more often though.

Maicon is a decent player, and our defense was solid. Juan and Lucio as defense players and Julio Cesar as the goalkeeper.

But what about the rest? Daniel Alves had a terrible world cup, and players like Gilberto Silva, Elano, Gilberto, Elano, Kleberson, among others are easily forgotten. I won't even start on Felipe Melo...

My point is, where's the talent? Where's that player that can change the story of the match? Dunga could have selected better players just like Germany's coach did with Müller and Özil.

By the way, ever since the first match, i noticed that Özil is a fantastic player. He knows when he has to attack, back to defend, pass, if has to slow the speed of the game. He's a intelligent player, still not a big name on the football world, but does what the team needs. And when a team has players like Germany has, everything simply works.

concerning germany, i was surprised not to see schneider (the german one not the one from holland :D ) in the 23 mans.., Always like his clean, no mess/no errors way of playing and covering the defense. In any case germany played its cards at 120%!

By showy i didn't mean as a team, but as singulars too like those useless tech stunts many players/teams like to do...

"El Loco" has always been an awesome player. He played a couple of seasons in Mexico and he was unstoppable. Really cool penalty kick.

Uruguay has a lot of happiness to advance to semi-finals. But in this match, Oranje sends them away.

Uruguay played great. It was a real challenge to Holland, unlike Brazil.

Congrats on Holland being on the final and Uruguay for the amazing campaign. Good luck on the 3rd place match!

Tomorrow, anything is possible. I said earlier on this topic that i was hoping Spain and Holland to win the World Cup, but Germany team is fantastic. Any of those will be a deserved champion.

But your team plays awesome. Congratulations, but Oranje have much better skills, so they win. :D

    Uruguay 2:3 Netherlands
    Goals for URU:
    Diego Forlan (41')
    Maximiliano PEREIRA (90'+2)
    Goals for NED:
    Giovanni VAN BRONCKHORST (18')
    Wesley SNEIJDER (70')
    Arjen ROBBEN (73')

The referee assistants were incompetent. :/
