Worst personal interaction in Japan

Oh you mean the bloody Mormons? I've had them come round two my old apartment. What's worse is they started to speak in Japanese!? Why? I'm not Japanese and neither were they.OH:

This is a personal pet peeve of mine. With the exception of being accompanied by people that speak absolutely zero English, or when visiting someone in jail where Japanese is compulsory, I just can't bring myself to do it.

I met an Italian shmups poster who's English level was pretty low, so there we were, two white guys speaking Japanese in an arcade.

 

Some friends of mine once threw a snowball on a passing car, promting the driver to stop and get out of his car. The guy demanded an apology and when he didn't get one he went inside the izakaya they were standing at. After a few minutes the owner came running up to them, asking them to apologize immediately. They'd apparantly hit the car of a local yakuza...

I only heard the story afterwards, but they figured it was just one silly snowball not worth apologizing for. Luckily the guy took off when they apologized, and they learned a valuable lesson. The owner of the izakaya where they always went drinking told them only afterwards that it was a yakuza though.

 

How do you figure that? I have a Suica card, and I don't even live in Japan anymore.

 

Very stupid, and I'm the king of throwing shit at cars. I was taken to jail for it when I was in high school. Threw a waterballon at an oncoming car. Turned out to be a police car. Damn no vision at night. Japanese aren't known for their sense of humor. They ARE known for being obsessive over their cars.

To be honest I'd be well pissed at some prick throwing shit at my car. So much that I'd probably get out and twat him/her.

I don't own a car (by choice) and fully understand.

 

The worst I've gotten is kids with squirtguns who think it'd be a good idea to put a streak down the side of my car.

One time, some kids (that I happen to know to be a bunch of douches, they live down the street from me and I used to skateboard with them years ago) were being dumb in their drive way and one fake-threw a ball at me right as I drove by. I SLAMMED on my breaks, just for effect, and started to reverse. They all ran inside. I felt so awesome.

 

Some restaurant in Shibuya , table full of old people started talking shit about foreigners (apparently according to the offended Japanese people with us, i wouldn't have had a clue at the time, i could just here a whole load of sneering) and , i shit you not, threw food at us. lol.

this is about 8 years back, one of my first meals in Tokyo. Never seen anything like it since.

 

LOL! Reminds me of many years ago, where a Polish guy kinda did what you did, but in this case he was a crazy fucker. Knew him all along anyway, he was good friends with my brother.

Anyways, the story was pretty funny. I was walking with a friend through a rather country side looking street that started going into some woods. But there is a sharp corner that also goes up a bit, making the car leap into the air if you go too fast, plus you couldnt see if there is someone comming from the other side. We where just on that part, the polish guy came raced around the corner and in the very freaking second he drove past us like a mad man, my friend said "FUCK!". But completly unreleated to the polish guy.

The guy slammed on the breaks, hit the car in reverse with sqeaking tires and slammed once again on the breaks right next to us. You should have seen his face when he realized I was "the little brother" so he quickly turned to the guy I was hanging around with, who happend to be russian. Man he made a show there, flexing his car enhanced penis while his girlfriend sits next to him in the car all ashamed, she happend to know me too! Oh snap!

Ah the 90s. Slamming on the breaks for the dramatic effect does work though, at first I was shitting my pants about what the hell woudl happen now. Damn russian guy, always getting me into trouble :lol:

edit: whoops, sorry. somewhat of an abuse of the actual context in this thread. Well let's just pretend there's a lot of german, russian and polish guys in... japan?

Actually I have this odd quirk where I like taking pictures of Japanese people who are taking pictures...

 

that's what confused me in that story..lol.

 

From reading this thread if I ever go to japan I will do what my brother did, which was go with his japanese friend as a guide.
