Criticom is bad... really bad! What surprised me the most is there was a sequel, Dark Rift, only released on the Nintendo64.
Gekido Urban Fighters certainly deserves mentioning. Terrible grainy graphics, bad camera angles, even worse controls.
Monster Seed was an awful monster Rancher/Pokemon style game that I wasted a rental on! I'm still pissed about that. You couldn't control your monsters, fought FFT style, and everytime you attacked you would fall into a msierable pile of polygons and watch the monsters screw up your battle plans. That Shadow Tower game! I had that game, the japanese version. It was so bad it was almost scary, how the graphics and things were so dark. It was even worse since I was confused on top of all that since it wasn't in english.
Waoh what's with all the chrono cross hate? i love chrono cross i love how there were so many characters and the story and the magic system and some other things, but i got chrono cross before i played chrono trigger, i thought chrono cross was way better than chrono trigger. Anyway to go with the topic. I think that the worst psx game is Sentinel returns. ( i didnt get what to do, it also didn't interest me, it seemed so boring)
Star Wars : Masters of Teras Kasi, Now there was a game that had so much potential, but failed dismally, yeah, graphically, it was pretty sweet, but that was its only redeeming feature
The world is not enough... On n64 it rocked, but it totally blows on ps1 (it's not PSX by the way, that's something else :110. Fantastic Four is really bad too.
I'll be dead before Martian Gothic is a classic... infact the sun will extinguish before it becomes even remotely enjoyable and only then because all other life has ceased!
Hellnight (Dark Messiah - jp): Video here But I beat it. Very interesting story, the potential was there, but: The graphics are depressive, ugly, slow. Music: 10 seconds loop, after that 11 seconds silence - a joke. The monster: funny, but mutating till the end. Was it really developed by one guy at Atlus?
similar and from the same company: Virus. And: Hybrid - the worst ego-shooter on psx. Made by Elite (who developed Powerslide for 3DO).
What was that fighter Square made that had various FF characters in it for the PSX ?? I ripped the disc from my machine and hurled it against the wall where smashed into pieces very satisfactory.
The music on Ehrgeiz was quite nice, although the sound track CD sells for several times the cost of the Playstation game for some unknown reason... I'm sure Fist (although it's on the Saturn as well and is equally terrible) could qualify as one of the worse fighters as one of the special features was a camera that you could reposition whilst the game was paused... I could say that any Mahjong game converted from the arcade and normally called Mahjong game X "Special", costing the same as the Saturn version which is a more accurate conversion of the game and featuring interesting edits and redrawn animation and none of the reason to play the game...
I was pestered by a friend to battle with him on "Bayblade" for the psone and I must say it is probably one of the worst games I have ever played Boring, Bad controls, Anoying sound
The engine & graphics on the PSX version of NFL Blitz 2000 are beyond horrible! The Dreamcast version is the best, followed by the Nintendo 64 version. It's as if they were made from a different company.
