Meh, that's too easy of a list. Bad games are fun in a sadistic sense. Plus if you got these as a kid, it was probably like the only game you'd get for months, so you HAD to play it.
I actually like Punky Skunk. It plays pretty well, the graphics are cute and colourful, and it has a pretty nice orchestral soundtrack. The name really is the worst part. The game is so wholesome and devoid of attitude it makes Super Mario World look like a GG Allin concert.
WCW Backstage Assault...... Sure, it came out on the N64 too. But as a huge wrestling fan i had never played such a crappy game in my life, thank god i had a modded PS1 and it only cost about £3 off the guy we used to get our backups from lol
Every non-Fire Pro or AKI wrestling game is just utter garbage. The Japanese know our own "sport" better than we do, let's just leave it to them, eh?
The older smackdown games were fun too, up until 'Here Comes The Pain' anyways. Nowadays they try to make it too sim-like when the smackdown games were much more fun when they had arcadey style gameplay
I mean if sports isn't your thing you're probably not gonna like that genre of games, but even if you're not an NFL football fan NFL Blitz can still be a ton of fun.
The OP should comprise all of the games mentioned and put it in the first post. We could get a pretty solid running list going. Just my suggestion.
For the record. It not PSX. It is Playstation game or PS1 game. PSX is a Japanese PSX DVR. It like saying PSone game when it not. PSone is known as PS slim console. Please don't confuse yourself and others. It is safe to say that Bugsy is definitely the worst game for the Playstation.
People called it PS1 when PS2 came out, not before, since it didnt make sense. Sony called it PSX in some stages of development and there are some docs with PSX name. Anyway, Sony allways mess up the brand names, now Playstation is stupidly-called Playstation Classics in PSN. Its not a big deal, PS2 DVR only came out in Japan and it sold poorly. Its like caring about the Sony Mylo, no one gives a shit.
It not a PS2 DVR, It is called PSX DVR and I own a PSX DVR. Yes you are right about Sony mislead the title now and again, for example many people thought PSX DVR is a console because it plays PS1 and PS2 games. Technically It not a console because it is a DVR system (Home media system) It sold poorly because the price was too high back in 2003.
I actually like a lot of the games you guys listed. Rapid Angels, Punky Skunk, ESPN extreme games, Gamera 2000, Eternal Eyes, Gekido Urban Fighters, Sol Divide, Martian Gothic, Ehrgeiz, Fighting Force 2, Contra: Legacy of War, Saga Frontier, Akuji: The Heartless, Nightmare Creatures, Army Men games, and Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars all seem to be far from the worst PS1 games, most wouldn't be considered classics but quite a few are fun. If these are the worst PS1 games you guys have played you have been lucky. In a post to correct others you list "Bugsy" for the PS1. Unless that is an actual game and you didn't mean "Bubsy 3D".
It's a DVR that's also a PS2, it plays PS2 games (so I've heard) and it's a DVR (that now seems really small). Supposedly SCEA wanted the official abbreviation of the original Playstation to be PSX for some reason, so, since most publications used that, the title stuck. Now we usually call it the PS1, since all the Sony consoles after have been the Playstation (number greater than the one before).
