Cockroaches inside an XBox from Georgia, maybe in a box from the Goodwill's auction site. Plenty of rust.
I'll sell you my modded Xbox on here then... It is still full of life! No joke though, I am worried my main Xbox is a hotel. This past week I saw a couple baby roaches right around where my Xbox sits, can't wait to crack it open this weekend. Anyone want pictures if it's infested? You sick bastards. They must love the heat that thing outputs almost daily.
^^ better write off virtually any console really, all have the right environment for insects, it's a question of console location. if it was kept in a room with constant outdoor fresh air OR heavily humid, expect a colony. the irony is, the dryer and staler the air is, most household insects find it difficult to set up shop, more than just a house they're looking for! (draw a balance of item/element exposure and maintain regularly) ... shame the xbox seems to get the 'roach motel' default lately, the web can offer more 'insect colonies' if it's in interest? (no thanks, got the idea, keep the images, curiosity killed the cat) :concern:
This has just reminded me of a PS3 I picked up with YLOD. The smell of smoke was obvious and the inside was covered in a brown fibre like dust, no wonder it overheated.
At least you do it by choice, 95% of them lazy goodwills won't ship to Canada At least you do it by choice, 95% of my Xbox have been given to me for free because they didnt work. ( Starts looking around for roaches )
I live in the buttfuck middle of nowhere (IE the woods) So roaches aren't a natural problem. But Spiders, Earwicks, and maggots are. Thakfully the high ptiches sounds my electronics let off, and the fact we have our house sprayed every 6 months prevent my consoles from becoming homes to these creepy crawlies. I only encountered Maggots once while taking out the trash. I think I set the entire trash can on fire or something I freaked out so much.
Maggots are carrion, it is not the the high pitch sound that keeps them at bay but the lack of food. Put a dead squirrel in your XBOX and they will come Pretty funny that someone so squeamish would live in the woods. Sure, maggots are disgusting but they are not really dangerous. They have been used to clean wounds actually. I found a rotting human corpse once, It was leaking fluids all over the place and swarming with maggots, now that was quite something.
:concern: from 'worst thing found in a console' to 'rotting corpses'... where's the grey area?! ... and i was worried the 'art' of 'conversation' was DEAD! (pun if you like) :smile-new:
No they did not, when I called they brought the paramedics with the defibrillators. I told them it was unneeded considering the condition of the patient. They still did not listen and kept on carrying the equipment. But they actually got repelled by the smell before they even saw the corpse. Only then they believed me.
I found a broken compass and a torn concert ticket inside of a Commodore 64 once. How or why they were inside is beyond me.
Weirdest carp I have found was a bunch of what looked like toenails..........not what you expect to find in a old snes, also found the odd grub hiding inside various consoles, insects/bugs is one thing, but why/how the hell would a collection of toe/fingernails end up inside a console............at least it wasn't a corpse tho suppose another weird one was a transparent gameboy that had lots of spider webs covered in polystyrene balls......gave for a weird effect, but the spiders had all already moved on....guess it wasn't a popular destination for flies i also remember a story from years back about a guy who was chipping xbox's and the police found a stash of thousands of pounds hidden inside an xbox............wouldn't you love to have a nice surprise like that when you crack open a console found a link http://hexus.net/gaming/news/xbox-360/11465-extreme-xbox-modding-nah-just-cash-stash/
