Wreck-It Ralph, the Pixar animation about... Video Games! (ZANGUIEF!!!)

Now that's an animation worth watching, finally Video Game representations done right on screen...

Yeah, that seems like it'd be worth a watch. Thanks for the post, doubt I would of heard of it in my normal day to day. Something new to look forward to.

Captain N called he wants his concept back. Plus it gets character traits of established characters wrong (like Captian N did) Badguy support group? That's insulting
Qbertese? NO Qbert was swearing.

Yeah it's nitpicking but still I feel my intelligence was insulted.

 

I see your point, but keep in mind that it is just a family-friendly animation from Disney, which tries to pay an homage to video games... it has comedic overtones and the usual story techniques employed in this sub-genre, and it is meant to gamers and non-gamers alike... just relax already at least they went the extra mile to research about it and to license remarkeable videogame characters (even CAPCOM ones), so I guess it is a movie worth watching. Just don't expect TOO MUCH as you're trying to do now.

I might have the same reaction if we were talking about any other production company but Pixar.

The Mega Man upon a star did this way better. Dr Wily escaping the game world and into the real one. Mega Man sets out to stop him....AND LEARN ABOUT JAPANESE CULTURE!

Eh still generic western style character/world design that every American animated movie uses these days. However, the plot has me interested at least. So I found the trailer amusing.

Also: yeah someone mentioned the music. After the initial Castlevania intro like Chiptune. The music made me facepalm.

 

It was funny to see, off all characters, Clyde being the chairman of the "Bad-Anon" meeting. :highly_amused:

Anyway, hope they make a nice tribute to classic arcade games, instead of making the easy route of using modern franchises.

 

Pixar jumped the shark with Cars 2 and early buzz about Brave is not good. I'm not holding my breath for this one either. =/

 

Indeed - but I still have high hopes considering the hero is from an 80's inspired arcade game. There were also references to Pac-Man and Q-Bert and at least the latter is fairly exclusive to the early 80's era. There will be references to newer franchises, but since it's Pixar I am optimistic that we'll see tons of nice references to actual classic gaming as well.

 

I liked the trailer, actually, and the movie's bound to be better than Cars 2 at any rate.

Come on, who takes video games this seriously?

 

Now here is a crossover I didn't see coming! I really don't have any feelings for it after that trailer, but I'll give it a chance, since, at the very least, the animation will be top notch (And interesting to see with our favorite characters)!

Hoping for some good cameos!

 

your loss, i think it looks quite good and remember animated films tend to be for kids, can't wait to watch this with my nephew
