Was this even released in any PAL region? After all PAL Xbox unhacked blocked 480p or above, defeating much of its purpose.

If you're looking for the official Xbox component video stereo out cable, I have one. At least I think I do. It's a cable with coponent video and stereo audio out. No names, logos, or anything on it. It's black. If interested in it, I am willing to trade for a HD video pack with the SPDIF digital out for my Logitech 5.1 surround sound system.

The cables were just a bundled RGB+Stereo colored lot without any special markings. I know I have them here as I used to own the HD kit but sold it a long while. A friend of mine has one and is going to give it to me soon as I trek back down to him and help him with some SSD firmware updates.

If you're looking for the box that looks like this [IMG] but official (I think this picture is of a 3rd party box), I think I have two of them in storage. Shipping would be a little expensive, though.

Would not come with cables, only the box as similarly pictured.

I've got a set of Monster brand cables so I never use either of mine. Let me know.

The US ones didn't come with Cables AFIK. Any 'ol Component cable will do the job. Are the PAL ones different?

I had an Intec one for years, had issues with it. Pluggin in an S-video cable while Component was in use would change the picture in a strange way and picture quality on LCDs/high resolution in homebrew was very poor.

I own an official HD Pack now myself and haven't had much issue.

Thanks for all the offers guys. If they didn't come with cables originally then that would be fine. Just I have some HD cables already but they have so much interference. The shielding is horrible on them.
Let me know much shipping is for them, still waiting to hear from Kiff since he could put them into the item I've from him already.

Also; yes they were sold in PAL regions, as PAL release games had 480p options.

That's right. Unlike the Gamecube's infamous mass removal, PAL Xbox games often left 480p intact. Even though a vanilla Microsoft PAL dashboard has no option to enable it.

To a degree yes, but the games usually switch the video mode themselves.

Really? It'd be a compatibility blunder if I understand what you're saying.
Automatic 480p whenever a component cable is connected, would make such games unplayable on SDTVs using an unmodded PAL Xbox.

The MSDASH doesn't run in 480p. Rarely does for me anyway. The video modes still switch, and it's upon first boot it wouldn't make any games unplayable at all.
Many SDTV don't have component so, that'd be pretty rare. :p

The msdash has to be edited for 480p, same with shell.

there is a little misinformation here. Even though most PAL games have 480p mode intact with them, it is impossible to use this mode with vanilla PAL xbox because xbox dashboard doesn't let you choose anything else than PAL50 or PAL60 even if you have the hd pack attached. so unless you set your xbox to NTSC via Enigmah or something else you can't use 480p.

The good news is after you set your xbox to NTSC, you can play your retail PAL xbox games in 480p (or even higher sometimes) glory.

i too have a spare official hd pack but shipping to us from euro will be expensive.

    Oh, you're so right!!

I just recall having DOA:XBV in 480p through the MSDASH but the system must of been in NTSC for that to happen.
Yep this guy is right and I was wrong. Derp.

For shipping with the pack, it shouldn't cost me any more than $10 to receive from the US. Are these items heavy?
