The fact that I left a message for you in it? lol My point was, my post was a report on the Eurogamer Expo. It had 50 views in 3 days.... with no replies. This post, with it's stupid title, gets 500 views in a day. And lots of replies. It's on it's second page, FFS! Maybe I should have called it "Eurogamer Expo Report" - could you change that for me, please? Still, it seems more people are curious about what sounds like a teenage post with a bad title that doesn't describe the thread than they are learning about how a video games exhibition featuring the latest consoles and games went. Back in 2005 when the trade-only events were still going in the UK, we had hundreds of views on the posts about them!
The butthurt is strong. Don't you realize good writing means almost nothing on the internet? Also, appealing to the common denominator. That and endless top 10 lists as humans can't conceive of anything more than 10 as being important. "top 70 list"
you did? I have to confess to not seeing that. It is quite a long artical and I'm a very busy guy. I mostly read this site during work hours or while I'm on the ........ (too much info, maybe?) So I probably glanced over the question. Can you point it out to me? Thanks.
Lets assume segammy is actually working on a console, its not but for the sake of the argument.... In that case: 1- it wouldn't be called a Dreamcast, if segammy is going for the nostalgia effect even the worst marketer would agree that using the Genesis/Megadrive name would be better in the eyes of consumers than a console thats considered by everyone but hardcore gamers to have been a failure, if remembered at all 2- it would most likely be ARM-based since you can get some pretty mighty chips for next to no money, and the console would be dirt-cheap to develop and make 3- it wouldn't say sega-sammy, nobody gives 2 fucks about sammy, even sega knows that which is why it puts "SEGA" on every game, not "sega-sammy"
Lol, very true. I don't really care - it's just a shame that we're not all capable of creating titles for our posts that give a clue as to the content At least there's a discussion going on here. As I've said countless times before, nobody should feel that they don't have the right level of knowledge to post here. So I hope the OP doesn't take offence by my comments - nothing against the OP personally, it was merely an observation of the subconscious actions of our community in what they pick as an interesting read! There's no such thing as a bad topic, as long as it isn't hateful or completely moronic, and everyone should feel they can ask questions here, for sure! So yeah, at least this post sparked a conversation! Ooh, it was as a reply, not part of the original post - sorry! I was commenting on the point you raised here that I'd made in that thread, encouraging a debate on the topic
Speaking of strange Sega-related new hardware, I don't know if any of you remember, but earlier this year, before E3 started, there was some kind of wild rumor spread off from wherever on the internet that there was a new Sega console on the way called Spectrum (which I immediately was wary of because it could have been anything, really), that all sprung from some random screenshot of a logo with the Spectrum name and with the Sega logo at the bottom. Of course, E3 came and went and no new console on the horizon (which doesn't really surprise me), but at the same time this same Spectrum thing just seems to have vanished pure and simple. Anyone knows or has an idea of what this thing actually is ? I was thinking of some kind of online game service, maybe...
Indeed, right ? It's getting eerily predictable. Here's an article with the screenshot of the logo in question : http://dreamcasttoday.wordpress.com/2013/05/30/just-what-is-sega-spectrum/ I have to admit, it looks pretty though. Edit : the date on it is 12th of june 2013, but as far as I know nothing's been unveiled on that particular day...
1. The Console maker Sega is long dead 2. if they had a new console it would not be called the Dreamcast 2. The Dreamcast 2 in Sega naming schemes would have been the redesign.
