Thats odd. I've never had to input commands when running Castlevania or any Konami game on Win68. When I boot Castlevania it starts right up with the midi disabled. If its enabled a screen like this appears after a moment and I can press a control pad button to skip the screen an begin the game. [IMG] I've ran across a few games that had no music when the midi option was turned on but turning it off corrects the problem. Also does anyone know where you can find a vsync and 3filter for the WinX68? I see the options for them are included but can't seem to find any.

Yeah, my Chase HQ works and let me tell you that it's bloody awful ! I was shocked at how bad it is. The PC Engine version is better !!!

Hehe, that is good news i guess, not missing out on much eh.....

Its a shame i think X68k has the only home version of Top Speed, one of my fave arcade racers from the day, the conversion is pretty shodster tho innit :/

Id suspect its built on the same engine as chase hq, so figures :emb:

Yahoo Japan has them quite often. I picked up an X68000 Pro for less than $80, but (surface) shipping was $50-60 on top of that. The biggest problem I've had with the X68000 is finding a monitor that will work with it. You can usually find the monitor on Yahoo Japan, but it would cost a fortune to ship. I found an old multiscan VGA monitor that works with most games.

Newbie question: Are track loaders commonly used by X68000 games (?) like many early Amiga games. Or are most games file based?

Everything I've seen are Human68K (dos) based games.

Thanks. The "compact" models with 3.5" drives might be good then?

What do you think about the X68000 CompactXVI?

It sounds like a 3.5" drive would work:

But, the biggest challenge would be transferring software from the original 5.25" drives. And, it sounds like the X68000 3.5" drive uses the 1.2MB format, which would require a 3Mode drive to write. (These seem pretty easy to find on ebay).

The only model I've used is the X68000 PRO.
