What are the temperatures like under load with that one? Looks like it's a non water cooled setup? Does the speed selection work well and what is the lower clock rate when enabled? Cool stuff!
Yes it's an air cooled setup. The watercooled 1,4ghz board is a one off a kind setup and was pretty expensive! Will check the exact temperatures for you tomorrow. The speed-selector does work well. I personally only use my console for Linux and XBMC so the people who already Tested more games should be able to get you more detailed inflo about it. The clock speed stays the same on both switch positions! The clock speed isn't really reduced and is 1400mhz on both positions. In the end the performance is reduced by 50% using the stpclk command. That's why XBMC allways states it is 1400mhz. The real DreamX does use exactly the same technique! @kuze i'll drop you a PM with a few details about the console/board and temps tomorrow if you like me to.
Sadly no 1480 by now. Well if there's anyone here with a real DreamX who would be willing to open it up and take a few shots off the motherboards for me... Well for real if there's anyone on here who's not afraid off opening up his dreamx i might be able to find the infos i need from a few shots off the motherboard. You wouldn't even need to remove the heatsink or whatever just open it up and take out the HDD and DVD drive. By now i'm not able to reproduce the 1480mhz mod and i know this pretty well as i already tried without success...!
It will run shitty windows already stay outta this! N64 can you post a comparison of your liquid cooled setup vs the dreamx heatsink s in your setups? I'm way too curious not to ask.
The water-cooled setup isn't mine. I need to wait till i get feedback about it myself. Once the console is finally finished we all get to know how good the heatsink really is!
Great work N64 the Xbox I bought from you was well done and very professional. If you ever do achieve the full 1480Mhz I may have to pick one up. I appreciate the craftsmanship I kinda feel bad that I'm not using the faceplate you originally had on the xbox as I know some work went into neatly cutting the metal shield to fit the speed switch in. I was almost done putting it back together when I remembered I should take some pictures. So I wish I had more.
You are using google for hosting your images, is there any link there to "share" it with people? maybe after loging out, it still in your cache. try another browser without loggin in. you could also use another image share site or the build in one https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/picasa/uOn4A3cIOyQ did answer my question how you might have made that link, but could be unrelated.
Huh yeah i just copied and pasted the photos. I didn't realize that they were just linking to Google photos. Ill fix it when i get back home
sos please need one of these are there any you can part with for a fair price? Or perhaps mod an xbox I send you? hmu seantorres@gmail.com
