Looking at the new releases list, I do see Indie games in there so I'm not sure what you're complaining about. The new look-n-feel seems nice to me. No issues with it so far.
The new look is shite imo. In fairness I thought that after every update initially, but got used to them and found them all very intuitive and easy to use after a few days. This though I'm not so sure. Fucking garbage MS. At least the games still rock though!
I've been testing features with a large group who are now testing the future apps. I think it's much better but i dislike the green.
They should let you make your own custom front-end. I don't like the quick play feature since it DOES NOT include games I recently played in order. I hate the way I have to wait for an add for indie games before I can find them (Japanese dash by the way) and I don't like the way I need to search for stuff. IMO, it is worse. Also, I hear people talk about searching with Bing but on my 360 there is no Bing.
There have been several complains since the dashboard has been in public testing stages. Many members have mentioned they'd like the bigger icons to be the play game rather than it being the smallest. They also constantly posted they'd like their game hub to be first rather than the crappy home one. There were also several complaints about advertisements. Microsoft don't really change much in the preview programs, even if it recieves 2000+ likes. Lawl. In some videos, you can see that there are blue tiles I have no idea why I can't change mine, the default ones are green -_-
The XBLIG's has its own separate New Releases list, but they are not included in the "real" New Releases list. The lists people will look at: Games -> Game Marketplace (Featured) -> New Releases = no XBLIG's Games -> Game Marketplace -> Games -> New Releases = no XBLIG's The lists that most people won't even know about: Games -> Game Marketplace -> Games -> Indie Games Ad -> New Releases = yes XBLIG's Games -> Game Marketplace -> Games -> Game Type -> Indie Games = yes XBLIG's Also, XBLIG's no longer have a way to sort by genre and, try as I might, I cannot find an XBLA with a "related" XBLIG (i.e. XBLIG's are excluded from the related list), even though an XBLIG can have any game on the system "related" to it.
I just checked out the UK 360 dash and what a fucking mess that is. makes the japanese one look so clean. We have no TV or shit like that on ours. I couldn't even find the Arcade downloads for a good few minutes. Shit, Microsoft need to sort this crap out. It's bloody awful.
How can anyone like this when you have to search for stuff that should be accessible right away? You can't access the Indie game section until the bloody add appears for it, you can't find your games that easily. the quick play section is shit since it doesn't feature stuff that I last played in order. Instead it features random stuff. I agree that the actual layout isn't all that bad but once you get past the first section of each area it's a bloody mess. Plus, us in Japan have been stiffed on many of the new upgrades. We get no Bing so finding stuff is even harder. We have no TV, no radio, and missing many other things. Yakumo
I like the look of the UI, but using a D-Pad to navigate this is horrible. There is just too much stuff to click through. I liked the blades a lot more, no idea how people found it difficult to use more simple than this bullshit.
You can speed up the ad block in the middle by moving the right analog. Also, I think that Indie Games is often an option in the green 'Show' filtering block at the top of the game browsers.
Continuing with the rant, I hate all the stupid "trendy/fashionable" images they've used for game categories. I don't want to see some stupid dog with goggles on, I don't want to see some dude in an action pose. I hate all of this shit. Always have done and what did Microsoft do? Stick it on MY console that I PAID for. We really need to be able to custom these. Fingers crossed the new Modio will allow just that. Yakumo
Assuming a similar layout, you can get into the XBLIG section through the "Game Type" tile in the marketplace.
It doesn't seem to be there on the JPN set up. There seems to be a few differences between the UK and JPN set up from what I've seen.
