Seems cool, but it doesn't convince me that I should buy an Xbox One. I already have an Xbox and a 360. I also have a PC, and pretty much any Xbox One game that I would want to play, I can play on my PC (performance is also not an issue). Backwards compatibility for systems I already own does nothing for me. Exclusives are what interests me when it comes to newer consoles. I have enough space for lots of systems, so that's not a factor either. I can understand why this appeals to other people, it just doesn't appeal to me personally.
YEAH lets buy the most powerful (Allegedly) console ever to play.................. 15 year old games If I buy an XBOX One there's only like 5 games I'll pick up and I can get those on PC anyway....... so.......... Why?
People sperg out about Sega releasing the umpteenth Megadrive collection but somehow the Xbox having backwards compatibility is a problem, lol.
There's no "problem" with it. As I already said, it just isn't a good reason for me to buy an Xbox One. I have no interest in Mega Drive collections.
Isn't a Console supposed to have games? Like NEW fresh games? What first party offerings does XBOX one have you can't get elsewhere?
Switch has more exclusives than XBOX One. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Xbox_One-only_games https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Nintendo_Switch-only_games Check and mate
1 year for Switch vs 4 for XBONE So that's really telling. But at least the XBOX One has a REALLY REALLY good controller.
Well, all I'm gong to say is that GOH has had a fan boy attertude against the Xbox One for a long time. I own a switch and a One X. All I'm going to say is Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. A Wii U re-release that's practically identical and will cost you the same as any other brand new game. Just try to justify that as being better than backwards compatability with 480 or 720p games now running in 4K with very noticeable graphical enhancements for absolutely free.
and OH LOOK I can play a game with low res textures in 4k. THIS IS AMAZING......... yeah amazing because you have NOTHING NEW TO PLAY. It's not a Fanboy attitude if it's the truth.
Dude, you're an idiot. Come back when you've seen what you are talking about and get your head out of your fanboys ass. Low res textures? Watch and educate yourself, dumb ass!
I honestly don't have a problem with either the Xbox one backwards compat or the Switch re-releases. I like old games, so being able to replay Morrowind again just for the sake of playing Morrowind again sounds fun. On the flip side of the coin because of all the best Wii U games ported to the Switch makes me not sad for never getting a Wii U, because until those announcements I was actually going to buy a Wii U (thinking after its life it would be much cheaper) to play games like Tropical Freeze.
Who is really being the fanboy here? You are beating your chest over an enhanced emulation of an old game which through the Use of an Xcable, an HDMI-Component passthrough or an Original XBOX HDMI cable you'd get the same awesome visuals on the original hardware not emulated. You can't ignore the facts, the Xbox One has NOTHING ORIGINAL ON IT. Everything can be played on PC, and don't give me that "PC is too complicated" Argument. PC is easier than ever to optimist. All you have is an emulator, Basically an official Microsoft Retron. Meenwhile on PS4........ This isn't a fanboy thing. It's pure fact. the XBOX One has nothing to offer and that's my point. At least Switch ports of Wii U games add extras. Why have an XBOX One when I can be playing Yakuza 0, Kwami 1 and 2 and Yakzua 6 on PS4? And those are exclusive not, on the console and also PC. Microsoft might have a future making 3rd party controllers, but they keep this up everyone but the blind fanboys will look elsewhere.
The topic here is about backwards compatibility. Play 3 generations of games on the Xbox One, pretty simple. As time passes more titles are added and more titles get enhanced. Any true gaming fan would appreciate it and not hate it. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility
Yeah and any "true gamer" would have already played those games on the original XBOX and XBOX 360. Can you not see that this is just to hide the fact that there is no new content coming for XBOX? I COULD get an XBOX ONE S or I could for the price of a game and a half get another 360 and let external scalers do all the work I could also get another original XBOX and again, let scalers do all the work. 100% compatibility. I might get an XBOX One controller........... to use on my Switch. Take the fanboy blinders off.
