Xbox outsold in Japan... by ..PSONE??!!

    ITX Mobo's with CPU are smaller, cheaper and don't need as much cooling and will play all of your media files just fine.


    The XBOX as a media playing device is redundant unless you already have one so don't go out scambling to get one cause it can play DivX etc

    I bought my xbox, it sat for a long time, then played halo like mad, then sat for almost a year.... played steel batallion, now it's sitting there again...

    It's great for people with no pc.

    But I have a PC and it usually sucks by comparison.

    If they're smart with xbox 2:

    1. Smaller than PS3

    2. Exterior design is by a Japanese firm

    3. Cheaper than PS3 on launch. Exclusives.This tactic worked for sega genesis (sports), and then snes (rpgs) did it not?

    4. Make sure 80% of the games in Japan are RPGS and pachinko/horse racing.

    I guess since my PC is shit, i use my XBOX for all the cool games i want. I really enjoyed the Hitman games for XBOX, games my PC just could not play, and I will have to buy DOOM 3 for my XBOX as well.

    Cost - Potentially nothing. As long as you already have a soldering iron, some Cd-Rs, an Xbox memory card and 007:Agent Under Fire/Mechassault. Then you can flash your TSOP with a hacked bios. All the rest of the software, such as the alternate Dashboards and XBMC and bios' are all free. You just need to know where to find them.

    The only real reason for a modchip now is to have an LCD screen. So about US$45 for an Xecuter3/Xenium/SmartXX and $25 for the LCD screen.

    DVD Kit - however cheap you can get one. X-IR - about $12.50. Remote pad - $45.

    And then however big a HDD you need. 250GB was £125.

    As for the case it was £40. No, I have no piccies. Getting a Digi cam soon though. Why? Cos its fun. And something cool to do. And it looks nice under the telly.

    Xbox is a success here , it has the most online players, ones that pay to play (imagine that). But almost everyone I know has a PS2 along with their xbox. Very few with ONLY xbox.

    Xbox really stole sony's market with the built in NIC,

    You can be sure as hell sony won't make that mistake next round.
