Ill have to check what SDKs I have installed at this point to compile anything else. Ive been a bit all over the place with my setup, switching between different versions so I may not have a retail compatible install hah

Thanks CodeAsm. I know I had those files somewhere, but hopefully not on my USB HDD that recently bit the dust. :(

Ultimately, in this case, I'm not too worried about what XDK it was built with. My current endeavour is XDK-agnostic, finally! Anyway, time to update the OP. Thanks guys!

The 2 seperate 2 .zip files are compiled by me (I think with the last xdk on a xp machine).
Recompiling them with an earlier version should be posible, and its something I want to do one day. Build a pc with multiple XP(vm?) and SDKs on them.
But mainly I try to get that magic big source file, im willing to offer coins and stuff, and in the mean time I document and research that awesome Xbox Alpha and stuff like that.
These files are awesome Shogun, im surpriced that you might have lost it, and it shows me that I should backup everything I have to dvd, hdd and store some on anotherlocation aswell. Im not shure if I should trust the big cloud, so some files are save at my domain adress like this, but personal photo's and some other prototype stuff isnt save there. Wonder what you guys think, but maybe thats another thread.

I keep things on certain cloud sites, RAR'd with recovery partitions. I also keep an off site backup, in addition to various versions on local harddrives.

Well, of course these source files are buildable on older XDKs. I used XDK 4361, remember? :p Aside from that, some, if not all of these samples were written before the XDK built for the Xbox launch titles was released. Since I'm on a Mac, I'd personally like to just "wine it" to keep things simple, but I don't know if it's possible to install two programs at once in the same bundle, since visual studio has to be installed first, so I'll just do a VM of Win2k instead. And for the sake of 6.0, it's a good thing I still have the service packs and processor pack required.

And yes, by all means, back up your files. I keep all of my available XDKs on a DVD in case one of my media storage devices/methods dies on me. I never used cloud storage for anything before because I'm always thinking "what if that server crashes?"

The cloud provides one more backup. Never rely on it as a primary backup.

I should add these to the archive if it doesn't cause legal issues...

Good idea, thats also why I ask MS for sharing goodies (if they every ask about the files)

I wouldn't want to cause legal trouble anyway, though :|
