Gaming consignment shop local to me. Same place I picked up my first 2005 LT console set for merely $50. Weird stuff comes through there every so often.
I've been saving this up as I've been piecing it together or restoring items shown here, I'll specify further below. Here is a group pic of my OG XDK stuff. Dvt4 is the new kid on the block to the two debug kits and the black dvt2. Next, this is a DVT4 I picked up with a Dakota controller and it's prototype communicator and orange beta memory card. The dvt4 came to me already opened and with a faulty Thompson drive. I replaced the drive with a fully working Phillips and for good measure gave it a new 120gb hdd after backing the goodies up and eventually transferring them back on. Now with the F partition, I have more space for beta and prototype builds on the kit. Here are some close ups of the Dakota and accessories... Here is the orange beta memory card. Not my only one, this actually makes 3. However this one is missing it's cap so I feel it's safe to display with the Dakota. Here is another shot of the prototype communicator. I've seen two others, and it's possible the two of them were one in the same as they both appeared here in the forums. However this one came from a gaming consignment shop local to the suburbs of Seattle. Don't bother asking how much because it will guarantee cardiac dysrythmias from how inexpensive. Right place, right time. Anyway, that's it for now. I'm trying to beef my OG Xbox collection so if anyone is looking to part with stuff, I can guarantee it a good home.
Awesome additions! Which plaque is that? The launch one with date or different one? Up until a few weeks ago, I didn't even know the prototype communicators existed. Now my search begins. Haha.
Thanks. I have been doing quite a bit of trading as of late and I've settled on these few items that unless something cataclysmic happens in my life (knock on wood), they'll stay in my collection for a good while.
Glad to hear the items are in good care! Very jealous of that communicator what a neat little gem. Awesome Xbox plaque as well like gaming247 pointed out, looks wonderful for a display piece.
That is pretty sick, to pick up a DVT, dakota, game communicator and beta memory card in one trip to a local store, in fact that is just silly! I have that same sign, I think they were used at the retail locations during the launch or something?
No no no, I picked up the communicator only from a consignment shop. The other pieces are from trades within the community....
Better picture to see what he is talking about, I have one of these and it says www.xbox.com, I always assumed it was a retail display item.
Great collection, always a treat to see those XDK's especially those DVT's they have something magical ^_^
