My Gaming Collection Here are a few pics of my personal dev/test/prototype console/etc collection. Also my YouTube channel many users will recognize https://www.youtube.com/user/XboxSurgeon Additionally under Xbox Development I started this thread all about the XDK Slim Sidecar http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?49954-XDK-Slim-Sidecar-Teardown-By-XboxSurgeon
Thanks. I have more pics but can't add more than 10. But the collection has grown since I took this pic a few months ago. I traded off the middle green debug kit on the left in the mass picture but gained one more prototype slim trinity and one prototype corona. I bought an XNA kit from a member here. I also just received another white test kit with sidecar from THQ yesterday.
It is because the darker of the two was opened and the previous owner removed the inner metal shell. I replaced it after this photo was taken and it was not as dark but more dark that the other still. I looked over it and found the embossed DVD and Dolby Digital logos were lacking on the darker one vs the lighter one and the date is much older.
Very nice stuff man! The XDK with the multicoloured faceplate is a very early demo unit? Completely masks the design.
Yeah, it's a falcon demo kit with a "Give 2008" faceplate. Here is a link about it with a close up for those interested. http://www.xboxaddict.com/faceplate-profile/1127/Xbox-360-Faceplate-Microsoft-GIVE-2008.html
It's the first time I've ever come across that faceplate, it's so detailed though. I honestly don't know why so many people did this... Many limited editions have had their tin removed and same with the DVTs and Debugs. So sad
It was. I bought it from a seller on ebay for $60 USD a few years ago. Traded it off for a prototype XDK Slim from Taiwan. Not bad. But I typically pay decent for debugs/xdk's. But when they've been opened my pay cuts in half as well as my interest. Too many people tampering, sacrilegious.
What about the clock caps? All the debug and XDKs I've seen have had early revision boards with the timebomb caps on them - so if you don't open them they will eventually be destroyed.
I have the one DVT2 in black shell, it's been opened and the clock cap has been removed, by me. The green debug kit is not open and I don't use it. I use the black only for debug xbe's and an XDK 360 for retail xbe.
