Anyone know of a rough street value of the collection? $10k doesn't seem terrible to get it all done at once, assuming all the $100+ and a terradrive are in there. I'm not so MD-knowledgeable though.

We talked about this a bit and it's definitely a bargain.
Except that you loose most of the collecting interest (hunting !) by buying such a lot.
And of course, it's not as interesting if you need to fly to japan to check the collection then rent a boat to bring it home lol

The problem is to be RIPPED OFF.
You have to go there to be sure the deal is ok,check everything is complete (nothing is told about condition of the games..all complete?Mint or trash?)
    and then,gigantic shipping charges

Otherwise the price is REALLY great.
But you miss the "hunting" part.

Well, assuming he would allow someone to go into his house to check it out, I'd do it. Shipping back to Tokyo would be only a few hundred bucks, I'm sure. I don't have $10k to spend on games right now though.

I have a question I hope someone here can give me an possible answer to. A seller has sold almost ten (at least six, yet...) sets of this the last weeks:

    http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n47491877

Prices from 20000-35000 Yen (my cost "only" 22000;-) ). But how can one single seller have so many sets of a rare poster etc. as that? Owner of arcade mall? "Crazy" collector? The main reason I ask is of course that I hope I havn´t payed over 200 USD for something he have printed self... I just want to feel calm. But I am not too worried; he have good feedback on the earlier sets. But it would be nice with a resonable explanation:katamari: .

(he also have a Radiant Silvergun kit up for the second time this week that I will bid on. Exactly the same pictures there as well as the last auction...).

Well nobody but he himself can explain where he buys his stuff.

One reasonable explanation would be that he got all the goodies from a game center which doesn't need them anymore. As I have seen on various images, they don't put suitable marquees into the cabs everytime. There could have been an overstorage of old marquees and posters and there was your seller, right on time.
That is how I would explain.

    Hm, that sounds very reasonable!

Hahaha, Koreans were really cheap bastards back then. They've use western Master System boxes (or Mega Drive maybe) for Japanese style carts that just don't fit. Their Samsung Saturn is the best though with it's reset switch that isn't actually connected to anything

Actually, the cartidge perfectly fits in the box.
They used selfmade boxes in which you can put either a megadrive game (vertically) or a master system game (horizontally)

Ah, now I know. Still looks odd with the Mark III / JPN Master System cart in it though.
