If I had the money and the space this is what I'd buy:

It's an old punching bag carnival type machine from Sega. People are starting to find some of the older Nintendo toys (pre-1977) but the Sega stuff hasn't been touched yet. This is some really amazing stuff for me...but it's usually very expensive and very big/heavy. I've only found a couple of other older Sega items on Yahoo over the years but I've been outbid both times for some serious amounts... I just don't have the floorspace or else I'd buy this in a second.

Great find... but 30k don't seem too much to me actually. I mean, this is a 35+ yr old giant thing made by a now legendary company - and it's in rather good condition. Regarding that people spend 48'000yen on a PS3 I think this is a great deal :D If there just wasn't the space isue...

How old do you think this is? 1960s?

My guess is this will go high, but it is basically limited to people living outside of any Metropolitan area (which knocks out like 75% of the population) unless they hae some type of antiques shop. It's also pick up only (in Osaka).

Really coo find though, JG... reading bits of "Sega Arcade History" now and again I've always wondered how much of their ancient hardware is around. Looks like this one operates for 10 yen each. Must be old. :)

Seems like their office was in Haneda forever as well.

The current auction is a relist of the one JG linked above (same starting price) so I doubt it will go high given it didn't sell for 30k before. Logistics is the issue sadly :(. I'd love something like that...but the 40's stuff even more.

Well but the SEGA logo back then came already pretty close to Japan's political course of the 40s:

Looks a bit like Sütterlin, the red/black/white colors fit as well ;-)

Well worth the money to have a Saturn that plays PS2 discs also. ;-)

It also gives proof to a debate I once heard that the Saturn is as powerful as a PS2!
