Yakumo has played the two new coming Dreamcast shooters !

Today I felt like a bit of arcade fun so I visited festa (6 floor gaming heaven full of latest games) and the retro shit hole :lol: But what did I find in the retro shit hole? Well apart from far too many crazed gamers packed around every fighting game cabinet I found Under Defeat and Radirgy. Perfect chance to have some good game testing. Besides, both were only 50 yen each per credit :thumbsup:

Radirgy to be honest looks a bit well.... wank in the screen shots and videos but don't judge the game until you've seen it actually running ! The cell shaded look works really well giving the game a new unique charm unlike no other. Playabality wise it's far more exciting than Chaos Filed and much more like a traditional shooter. Deffinatly one to check out.

Under Defeat can only be described as the most beautiful shooter to ever grace the Dreamcast or any other system for that matter. The partical effects from explosions are wonderful. The smoke effects look almost real !! Everything looks as if G.Rev hired the best artests they could find to make this one of the most beautiful games ever ! A nice Up yours to all those Ikaruga lovers for sure ! :lol: The way the helicopter controls is a bit odd at first but you soon get used to it. Default is straight and it will stay like that until you let go to the fire button. Letting go of fire will allow you to change your helicopte's angle so that you are able to shoot enemies coming in from the corners or side. It won't doa full 360 though like Zero Gunner. Under Defeat is still a virtical scroller.

Two MUST buys for the Dreamcast in my opinion!!

Yakumo, what are (if any) the Sega Direct bonuses for Under Defeat? I'm thinking of ordering it, but I'm honestly having a hard time deciding between it and the upcoming Ibara on PS2. The inclusion of spectacular goodies could help sway my opinion one way or the other.

Anyone seen some movies of under defeat in action? The game looks great in stills I can only imagine how good it must look in action. Can't wait.

i'll wait until is dumped, i wont pay 80bucks for a "new" game, i just dont buy "new" games, dont feel like paying 80bucks and then finding it for 20.

 

I'd love to support the DC, but for $80 (the most I would have ever spent on a new game) videos are needed first.

 

ESPGaluda II is insane! I'll only say that i REALLY tried to play, but the game OWNED me :lol:

Under Defeat seems to be great too. Don't know the other one. Anyway, it's great that the Dreamcast continues to have support :thumbsup:

frankly I'm disgusted by those that are stating their intent of downloading it when it's dumped. these companies do need customer support - this is more of a fan service than anything else. if I where a mod I'd reprimand you for making such statements. I'm extreme but there you go.

both of those wont give the company any money, i just dont buy new games.

 

You've got to be fucking joking, Right? h: I have the equipment to do it (BBA or Coders Cable) but there's no way in hell I will. Some of you guys are cheap bastards, you know !!! Fuck, 80 US dollars is nothing !!! People in Europe spend more than that on local games, never mind import !! If you want the game then save for it. You do know how to save? This doesn't just go tout to Shadowlayer but to all those others who will just download it. Hey I just thought, yeah I will rip it and purposely fuck up the rip so you guys waste your time downloading it and waste a CDR too. I have enough connections to get it widespread in next to no time.

No idea yet mate because neither G.Reve or Sega have mentioned anything. People talking about a CD and so on are just guessing.

10 minutes? how many people here have an internet connection that can download 700MB in 10 minutes? I'll tell you about 10 at most. Anyway, do couldn't care less how much time and money they waste as long as they do :lol:

Thanks Fabrizo, those videos are great (looks a bit easy up to stage 4 though - hope it gets a bit faster/intense). That is awesome, makes homura on taito X look crap in comparison, hurrah to g-rev.

Just a note for collectors, the borderdown limited edition is kinda hard to find now, especially with the pre-order mouse pad. So this game may very well go the same way, anyway I like the OST so it is probably worth getting the ltd version.

Oh and for those complaining - get a job. When I wanted my 360, I just worked evenings for a week on a crappy delivery job. You could get the money for this game in a single day.

 

Yakumo, are the arcade versions of the 2 games running naomi hardware if you know? (I assume so). While i dont have 80 bucks right now, i want at least one of them lol. And if its naomi, i may just wait until its possible to find that version...
