I'd generally advise against signed statements, as potentially that could be seen as an admission that it's your fault or resposibility. If you do make a statement, add a disclaimer as the last paragraph: "This statement is not an admission of guilt or responsibility." Don't sign off the letter with a pen, just type your name at the bottom of the letter in Word or whatever you're using and print it out.
I guess I missed it, what happened? Someone try and sell a beta of a game still in development or something? Edit: Never mind, I guess it's this: http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2010/01/unreleased_splatterhouse_brief.php
I must say I was a bit surprised this guy had a mountain of dev 360's and a beta of an unreleased current gen console game for sale here so openly. Given how much exposure the post received I wouldn't be surprised if mS got in touch and reclaimed all the machines. How he would be able to talk his way out of that one, I can't imagine. "Yeah, I picked them up at a garage sale, you know how it is."
Lets be honest, the guy is in pretty deep shit considering the mainstream coverage this has received. Even people in my office have heard about this and they aren't "scene" people.
It's a good thing we have 0th bit to protect us. With all the news coverage, some people (idiots) seem to be talking out of their ass now... Tying to say that Assembler is an elite den for piracy. I would not be surprised if registrations shot up a bit just from people registering to see if there are any hidden "pirate" sections of the forum or some BS like that.
Indeed. Would be akin to suggesting that since a gun's main purpose throughout history is to kill (short of target practice or what have you) the NRA condones murder.
Good analogy, but the point holds water, verylittle that could be downloaded from this site is technically legal - right?
Theres also very little, period, that can be downloaded from the site. In the scheme of things, we're small game when it comes to downloads
Both very valid points. Sonic Xtreme is indeed copyright infringing material, however it is clear that Sega has little want to do with it anymore. As such I'd consider it abadonware (if anyone still believes in such a term) and up for preservation as a cultural item. Not like we carry the latest XDK and source for the 360 kernel. That would get a beat down lawyer style.
Grabbed from: http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2010/01/unreleased_splatterhouse_brief.php "I'm not surprised that this sale appeared at Assemblergames. That forum is a breeding ground for piracy. Register and they will allow you to view 'special' sections. Posted by: Gilberto Philips | January 17, 2010 1:47 PM" You don't get access to here when you register do you?
I remember hearing a few little things about this game over time but was there ever any videos or trailers released at any points in its development?
There was a trailer released when it was first announced IIRC. *Edit* I found a more recent trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6YjcAXR4po
