Maybe I'm living in an alternate universe - in this one, PSIO definitely exists, since I have one plugged into the back of my PlayStation.
I figured that only the selected few have those? cause it was never release for the mass public for purchasing.
There seems to be an element of luck involved in ordering one - basically, you go to the ordering page and it's showing as "out of stock" - but there is a system where you can enter your email address and it will mail you when the next batch arrives. But you have to be quick - apparently the last batch was 200 units and sold out in a few hours.
The Division - Multiplayer only?! No thanks, specially when Uplay is still around. Street Fighter V - Still doesn't look like a finished product. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan EA - Specially by fucking up Titanfall 2 release date, basicly killing the game before it had any chance. Steam - For becoming a shovelware dumpster. Polyphony Digital - Kaz still doesn't get it. The gaming industry - Too many delays that still resulted in unfinished products, big "Day One" patches, DLC and terrible PC Ports.
I also was lucky enough to get one also. It works great in my opinion. I think it has been a failure in the sense that they have lacked production power to deliver their product to the masses. With the behind the scenes drama I think the DCIO will be delayed or possibly never happen. I really was hoping for a solution to the Sega CD. I think the PSIO will continue to improve with time though, and hopefully they will increase production and get their product out there. I wish they could have worked a deal with Krikzz.
No Man's Sky was the biggest let down for me, all the promised-but-not-delivered stuff, and also the pre-order DLC was a joke. +1 Johnny, you said it man.
Mirror's Edge 2, it's "meh". Everything is exactly the same as in the first one except now it's an open world game with a bunch boring sidemissions/quests. Not all games need to be openworld..
it has to be the ps4 pro.....no 4k blu ray!?! wtf sony thought blu ray was your thing? yet xbox one s has it!
Easy: BF1! Shouldn't be a disappointment since I was expecting a pile of shit, but they surprised me with the most unbelievable bugs. i.e.: non-playable demo and can't quit the game without using Ctrl-Alt-Del for short. Plus it's the most expensive game I bought this year. Another small disappointment this, even if it came out in december 2015(only played in 2016), is Xenoblade Chronicle X. Not a bad game, but compared to the first, it lacks in some areas.
Basically in 2016 we've come to the point where selling Beta versions relabelled as "retail" is now normal. I mean they left out half the game, they're calling it "DLC" and will make you pay thrice just to get the complete game. Once for "retail" and twice for the DLCs (which in this particular case are acutally integral to the whole game and aren't just some silly nazi zombie maps). While in reality the game is litereally not finnished yet, aside from the bugs, vital chapters of the actual game aren't even completed yet. I mean what kind of WW1 are we talking about without key players such as France and Russia. Ridiculous. Still, I'll be buying it next year. Somewhere close to Autumn 2017 an all in one pack should be available with all chapters (read: "DLC"), patches etc. Because it still looks like it could be a decent game, if your overlook their greedy sales politics.
Although it wasnt released in 2016, I didn't play Fallout 4 until then. The ending was a big let down for me. The game pulled me in, until I met the old man at the end. I was so furious, I shot him in the face and killed him as soon as he finished saying what he had to say. Probably the most anti climatic ending to a game I ever played. I was thoroughly enjoying the game up until that point. I guess disappointment overwhelmed me when I found what I was looking for and it wasn't what I expected. I did feel great satisfaction running like hell outta there after I blew him to pieces though.
I second this. I don't play on the Xbox One enough to justify putting down more money into a slight upgrade which is the Xbox One S, I was dead set on picking up the PS4 Pro (and still did) but the biggest disappointment is no 4K Blu-ray drive.
Yeah I would've considered the proposition of upgrading to PS4 Pro if it did have a 4K Blu Ray drive in it. Completely inexcusable that it doesn't.
I have to agree with everyone else about the most disappointing games (No man's sky, Mafia 3, etc.), but for me I am disappointed in the video game industry as a whole, especially this year. Look at the most popular games, they are mostly sequels and most of them are poorly done, yet they still sell millions. Although some games like the new Doom and Battlefield are decent and beautiful, ultimately they bring nothing new. And just look how many remastered games have come out the past year or two. All these games were available in the previous generation, but since developing games takes a lot of time these days, they just re-release old games, often with no improvements and many problems like Bioshock remastered. And again, people buy them and this allows game companies to repeat the cycle. The Xbox One S and PS4 Pro are also similar, new hardware without any major benefits almost like a "remaster" of the original consoles.
I can't say that I agree with you, although I would've a month ago. Before I played "Inside". Holy crap, what an awesome game that is. And it brings something very new and fresh. That game really made me feel like there's still hope for the industry.
I don't think I have played any 2016 game besides Overwatch (Was acutally surprised with this one) What's with Polyphony? I've heard that their way long development cycles are not being worth anymore and that Forza which is a yearly game is being better than GT right now. Too bad it ended being a poor sequel from what people said, I did finish the original one and was happy that they would finally make a sequel. TBH, I never understood why people were so hyped for this game, it might be the fact that I'm not into space games, but when I saw what the game was back in 2014 I was like "Yeah, it's going to be a empty procedural generation game that is going to be boring as hell after playing for 3 hours" Turns out my superstition was right after all
