I'm not sure what you mean but yes, the Xbox will run at 720p input if the game supports it over D-terminal (Japanese component).

Yakumo, I am in USA. Will I need a step down transformer for our 117v outlets to 100v?

What is best setting for PSX ?
I have tried to change the settings of output resolution from 480p to 720, 1024....Etc. but the picture still same resolution in game, The only thing that changes is a menu list of the (XRGB mini) This means output resolution only to menu of XRGB mini.

    • IMAGE_MODE = NATURAL
    • AUTO_SCALER = GAME
    • SHARPNESS = 2

    I test all below device:-

    • PSX 7502 PAL
    • PSX 5502 PAL
    • PSX 9002 PAL
    • TV Samsung 32" LED
    • TV SONY 32" LED
    • TV LG 42" LED model: 42lb552
the picture resolution of the game its same in AV mod no thing different.

Piggy backing on the above PSX post, but here doesn't seem to be a general FM thread apart from this one so apologies for asking a tech question here:-
Got a small snag with a NTSC PSX (original grey jobbie) and a Framemeister using one of these rgb scarts (see first piccie)
    http://retrorgb.com/playstation.html
I get no image on screen at all, I don't even get a no_signal onscreen display from the XRGB.

    Does work via :-
    a) Standard AV RCA cable to XRGB
    b) RCA out from the module on the RGB cable to XRGB

    Doesn't work via :-
    c) RCA to Scart cable to XRGB (I didn't think this one would after reading about a NES doing the same)
    d) AV RGB cable to XRGB - D'OH!

It even seems to lock up the Framie as it requires a power disconnect to power it down, the remote button won't do it. Does it need a sync stripper etc to make work correctly? Any clues for unwary travellers that they might look at!

    Cheers :)

I have no idea what you mean here at all, the mini outputs at whatever resolution you set it to, your console always outputs at whatever resolution the game supports. Try turning the auto scaler off and playing with the H_SCALER value, leave V_SCALER at 5 or 6.

I think so too :) Seriously though they are really good. Every Retro gamer should have a Framemeister!

XRGB is an upscaler. In its status menu you should see "240p input, 720p output" or similar.
It doesn't change what resolution the console outputs.

The included adapter requires Japanese cables. (foreigners use the word "scart" to make discussion easier, not part of their actual name)
Using european scart is sold separately.

Did anyone here try out a Framemeister on a 4K screen, I'm really curious to know how the image and scanlines hold up to a modern screen. I'm debating to buy or not to buy a Framemeister, if I do I would like to be future proof since it's only a matter of time before I'll have a 4K screen in the house.

When I head off to uni I'll have to get one of these. I really don't want to lug a CRT into a dorm, plus I don't want weird looks from having a huge cubic PVM haha.

Also, Would I be able to buy a SCART to Japan RGB 21 adapter from you when the time arises?

I need to get more time to do a thorough review of the XRGB-mini, but so far it has been pretty awesome and looks absolutley freaking amazing on my 42" and 65" LCD TV. Yakumo is awesome! He sent it out right away and I got it in a matter of days. I also got a sticker overlay for the remote since I probably wouldn't remember what does what function. English Remote Overlay from fatpat268 on Ebay

You can get a SCART to JP21 8-pin adapter from here:
    Retro_Console_Accessories on Ebay

    Or

Not from me since such things are not sold in Japan but you can buy one from retrogamingcables.co.uk for a good price. That place also has a US branch too. Just use .com instead of .co.uk
