    Hey,

Does anybody know if someone compiled a list of connections between gundam games?

Like I can tell you some of the tree for the PSP system but I don't really know fully where the PSP games connect in with other gundam games.

Like what was the proper pre-cursor to Gundam Battle Tactics (by Studio Artdink). I know this game lead to Gundam Battle Royale, which leads to Gundam Battle Chronicles, which leads to Gundam Battle Universe (Which also makes a side branch into Macross Ace Frontier, which leads to Macross Ultimate Frontier), which leads to the last one that was Gundam Assault Survive. There also is the Gundam Vs series on the PSP that I know are ports of the arcade games which are based all the way back on Capcom's Gundam: Federation Vs. Jion that ran on Sega Naomi arcade system.

I know this sounds strange/lame to want to know but I've been a big fan of the gundam games on PSP for a few years and I want to now start getting into some of the other games out there in arcades & PS2. So i'd kind of like to know what games came from what and lead to what and who they where developed by.

I am also interested in this. Though I lack the proper knowledge to compile such a list.

However, I do remember reading that Gundam Battle Tactics was a spiritual successor to Gundam Lost War Chronicles. But I might be remembering wrong

Almost as painful as trying to figure out how the actual Gundam series branch out!

Wait, there are games related to Federation Vs Zeon on PSP? Maybe I should look for those since I did enjoy Federation Vs Zeon on the PS2. I actually got Gundam Crossfire for PS3 thinking and hoping it would be similar but it's quite a different type of game but I still liked it. At first I hated it like many reviewers did but once I figured out how you actually play it I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I'm also interested in the Gundam games that are related to SD Gundam X on SNES. I think there have been some related ones on NDS, and I know PS1 and Saturn had some but the problem ofcourse is they are in Japanese. Sd Gundam X I loved since it got translated.

I doubt there is any one complete list online that has all the Gundam games let alone one that tells how they all fit together.

This is why I want to see a list built. There are so many different types of Gundam games and some play like some and some are entirely different from the rest (like the 1st person dome Gundam in arcades which also got a PSP port).

    It's just crazy.

Also the PSP game related to FvZ is the Vs series. There are 3 games (all ports with new additions, all originated as arcade games): Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. Portable (Arc>PS2>PSP, PSP ads mission mode), Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam (Arc>PSP) & Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus (Arc>PSP).

    http://www.seed-vs.com/
    http://gundam-vs.jp/psp/
    http://www.gundam-vs.jp/nextplus/

I wish namco would put all their PSP gundam games on J-PSN so I can fill out my collection. I started looking into buying all the ones i'm missing recently and it's a bit expensive (since some had budget reprints and some don't, some also are less common now then others. I might have to hit up yahoo auctions to see if some are cheaper there).

    --------------------------------------

Oh, today I end up snagging a few ps2 usa gundam games off ebay since they where cheap.

    Gundam Federation vs. Zeon
    Gundam Encounters in Space
    Gundam Zeonic Front

As one can expect (based on this topic). All 3 seem to be entirely different. FvZ i think is based on the capcom arcade game, EiS is all space battles & ZF looks to be a slower pased game that is more mission oriented.

There is a "Kidou Senshi Gundam" game, a lot like that "Macross DYRL" for the PSX, too. Or so I recall.

Not a bad start but PS2 is still missing a few.

There is Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. 2 Plus & musou Gundam 1/2.

Also depending on if we consider them or not (since they are not "Gundam" games but they do feature gundam mechs) there is the whole another century's episode 1-3 (Ps2) & 4 (PS3)

Anyways great list so far. I'll spend some time this weekend trying to build from it (with links to the game's websites along with adding in arcades to the list).

    -edit-
Also the PSP list is missing Mobile Suit Gundam: Senjou no Kizuna Portable. A port of the arcade game. The game was well put together (trying to mimic the whole arcade experience) but over all the game juts does not play all that good on the PSP due to controls.

    Hey,

Does anybody know if "Gundam vs Z Gundam" for GCN is rare or something? Just doing some looking into the 3 GCN Gundam games (2 reg & 1 SD), I checked out ebay and noticed there are very few copies up and the ones there are trying to hit up ~$50 for a used copy (with one up for over $150, LOL).

    -----------

Hehe, I think i'm starting to get addicted into researching this tree (might build a gundam game collection, I like playing them).

Have you tried looking on Yahoo Jpn Auctions?

Not yet. Will check later. Another reason I am wondering is I might know of an import site that still has a new copy (could just be a DB error) but it's in the $58ish range. If the game is rare I might just snag up the new copy if possible.

Play asia has the other GCN gundam on sale atm for $20, might grab a copy of that too while I can.

Also I now noticed there is 1 DS game that counts in this tree (Gundam 00) which is developed by Bec (who did a few ps2 gundam games). This game does not look to be rare (around $20-$25 on ebay, probably cheaper in japan).

Wasn't there also a follow up/expansion for Gundam Side Story 0079? I seem to recall there being one (of course, it could be one of the ones you listed) and it being Japan exclusive.

I really liked that Gundam Sidestory game though... never watched or cared about Gundam, but it was a fun little game.

Yes, you're right, JP. The other one I didn't include was the 0079 Premium Disc.
