    Dreamcast,

Is "Kidou Senshi Gundam - Gihren's Greed - Blood of Zeon" a strat game? I was hitting up ebay looking for the price of DX and I saw this game but didn't find much for pictures online.

Yeah, it's a strategy game...also, there were actually two Gundam Z side scrollers for the Saturn as well as the Gundam 0079 one.

Oh, I know I said this last page but I felt like doing it again for people who did not noticed.

For anybody interested, Play-Asia is currently selling Mobile Suit Gundam: Senshitachi no Kiseki (Gamecube) new for $20 (+ shipping). It's a pretty good price for a new copy (used on ebay go for $25+).

Hey, still working on my list to build up info (kind of going slow). I'm also still waiting for my recent orders to arive (3 ps2 games, 1 gcn game).

I have a new question for those out there who might know. Does anybody know of any games released that are based off the 3d Gundam arcade games with out being a gundam game?

There are only 3 games I know of so far.
. Macross Ace Frontier (by Artdink based off the Gundam Battle series)

. Macross Ultimate Frontier (same above)

. SENGOKU BASARA BATTLE HEROES (by Capcom)

mm Yes... Just got to give my self a short break after buying up a system246 recently. :)

Nice thing when checking yahoo auctions last night. There are quite a few auctions where people are selling their whole gundam ps2 collections for pretty cheap. So I should be able to snag up all the PS2 games pretty easily.

also i'm not fully sure but based on what I find online. Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam looks to be console only (ps2/gcn). It looks to be a direct sequel to Gundam Z: AEUG vs. Titans (which recieved 2 versions, reg & dx, in arcades and 1 port to ps2, probably of the 1st version). Kind of odd if true.

Man, I wish my copies of the 3 ps2 gundam games would hurry up and show so I can play them (if i'm lucky they will be here before the weekend, if not next week).

Does Gundam True Odyssey on PS2 count, even though it is not directly based on any Gundam series?

In the scope of this thread and what i'm looking to chart/figure out. No because it simply is just an RPG that involves gundams. It's not a 3d battle game.

The reason to exclude them is the scope, as narrow as it is is already, is pretty messed up/complicated to figure out. To add all others into this, I will never get anything done (hell I'm largely ignoring the whole SD series at the moment).

If they have to be 3D games, then I guess the Gundam Gaiden games on Saturn count? They're in 3D.

    Oh those very much count.

The only one i'm very iffy on atm is Gundam Battle Assault 3. 1 & 2 are very much 2d fighters. The 3rd one is also a fighter but is much more open (more akin to say Tekken) but the stages are more like the 3D battle games. The game even looks to have a mission structure.

Mmm..Yahoo Auctions is dangerous. For pretty cheap I can snap up Z, Z DX, Zaft & Zaft 2. =P Looking to see what happens later this week. I have a "broken" 246 (b) on it's way to me which might be fixable (have to see, the description makes me think they tried using a monitor on it with out setting it up properly).

Odd thing though. I wonder if System 256 units are still heavily in use in japan. There is no listings for a 256 board nor GvG or GvG Next (but not surprised on the last one since Future is not out yet which runs on a ps3 board).

Yeah, you can get sucked in. There are fees you gotta watch out for though. :0

    I just shipped a working one. :)

Back on this list: Why 3D only? I realize the 2D list would balloon into craziness, but IMHO there are more 3D turd games than 2D (across the board really, but it especially holds true for Gundam). In fact, the only 3D Gundam games I rate are the versus series, and even that is a bit lack luster for the first few iterations.

How much? I noticed a few C units for cheap on yahoo. Still not sure why there is no 256 though. If I can't fix the 246 i'll just ditch it on ebay again where I should be able to get some money back from it (I use to have one in the past for SC2). I think the only reason I was interested in getting this one was the auction said this "THIS PCB SET IS IN NICE SHAPE BUT WE COULD NOT GET THE GAME TO POWER UP. WHEN WE TRIED IT JUST KEPT SAYING NO VIDEO CONNECTED OR SOMETHING TO THAT EFFECT." Along with a picture of all but the VGA cable being plugged into the Jamma board. Which makes me think they simply just plugged the cable into a monitor with out properly setting the dips.

I chose 3D since I already had a few for PSP and quite enjoyed them. I actually have never watched a Gundam anime/movie still. I got into the series though a demo of GBU for PSP and bought it soon after. From that I got into the others on PSP. This whole list started because I was looking to fill out my PSP collection as well maybe get a PS2 Gundam game to play on my PS3. I end up getting curious as to where the PSP games fit into the whole thing. That is why I asked this topic and since there wasn't an answer, I decided to look into it. I doubt I will ever get anything comprehensive done but it would be nice to at least have a clearer collection of the info then other sites. =)

If by some miracle I actually get enough done on the 3D games then yeah I might expand to add in some of the 2D games.

The 246 was in a few parts. 1 was cheap, 1 was not. I'd have to dig it up. Shipping was rather pricey, of course.

There were some good Gundam series back in the 80's and early 90's. Z-Gundam is a great TV series, and the 0080 & 0083 were the good OVA series. Basically went tits up (IE - geared towards Elementary school kids) shortly after, although I believe they get a few hits here and there.

As for the games, the Super Robot Taisen (2D ones) are all highly rated, but bring in every robot from the Bandai universe. If you like strategy games, they're worth checking out. I tried to play one but found it a bit redundant.

Action-wise there are a few. There are 2 good 2D platformer, SD-Gundam arcade games. One is in Mame... one is not.

I did like the Dreamcast Gundam game, although it was severely lacking in playable choices. Other than the versus games, it's the only 3D one that stands out (to me).

I've stayed away from the strategy games due to language barrier. I assume the same for for the Robot Taisen series. Which ones are the 2d platfomers?

The Capcom game or the Sega one? If the capcom one, that pretty much is the basis of the whole VS series. It goes Fed vs Zion, FvZ Dx, Z, Z Dx, Zaft, Zaft 2, GvG, GvG Next, G Extreme Vs. Dc version is a port of FvZ Dx.

While not Gundam only/specifically. The A.C.E. series is also highly regarded from what i've read (I have A.C.E. 2, just no way to play it atm =/).

There is 2 SD side scrolling Gundam games for the Super Famicom that are particularly very good and a lot of fun to play. The first is based on OYW and the second is Zeta . I don't remember the name though.

Part of me wants to say I wish they had made a game based on Turn-A-Gundam but another part says it's glad they didn't because it probably wouldn't have done the show justice. It didn't have a lot of combat like most other gundam shows.
