Well how's this: If I can turn it on or off, it is likely a feature that is not adding to the gameplay one bit, and therefore is a gimmick. Seriously. Online is a gimmick with leaderboards. When you connect to play others online in specific game modes, it becomes a real feature when the online modes are online only. Don't tell me that the 3d switch will change gaming. It won't unless there are games with play mechanics designed around it!
It's always funny to heard the shit coming from butthurt fans, no matter the brand... So let me get this straight: you guys had no problem talking smack about the GameGear's lack of games and the Nomad's piss-poor battery life and size, or PSP's combination of all this factors plus "high price" (which was actually lower than 3DS's in the basic pack BTW). But, when we're talking about 3DS's excessive price compared to other devices, terrible-for-today battery life, pathetic launch catalog made mostly of rehashed games, and obsolete hardware, thats offensive? who the fuck do you think you are? I get it, is just like when it became OBVIOUS the Wii was an overclocked GC: you all cried LIE but it was true, and now that the hype is gone nobody denies this fact. The 3DS? I'm going to be honest: I don't care I don't care because I KNOW less than a year from now theres gonna be a Lite version, cheaper and with a better battery. Just like the grey brick that was the first DS what you are getting now is a beta product. The only 100% original launch game which isn't a rehash (how many times can you replay OoT? seriously) or a port has to be Kid Icarus, but who buys a console for ONE game? And BTW, I bought a Indigo GBA ON LAUNCH DAY yet I didn't buy a PSP until the 2000 "slim" series was released without all the issues the fat one had, so don't start with that "you hate nintendo" crap again.
I've prepaid half of mine at Game Stop so far. It kind of sucks to drop so much on a handheld (DS launch model was 150 and I got lucky about a year after release and got a PSP for $110 at a pawn shop with no power cord), but at the same time I haven't bought a new handheld since I got those two so I'm due for an upgrade.

Bull. You can have parental controls with out the need for region lock. PSP implements this perfectly fine. If you say your kids can't play M rated games, it will also take into account the PEGI & Cero rating equivalent for what you can or can't play.

I played on it the other day, the 3D works surprisingly well but it still felt unnatural.. I wonder what the general consensus after launch is gonna be.
Seek professional help, please :thumbsup: I got the chance to demo the 3DS, last year. YOU don't know what you're talking about! I'd advise you to try it out before flipping out.
I'm definitely getting a 3DS with Dead or Alive Dimensions and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. I can't wait for Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Mercenaries to be released with other cool games too.
Too bad Kid Icarus Uprising and Zelda OoT 3D will be released after the launch-E3 period I'd love to get my hands on a 3DS.
Lots of people buy consoles after seeing, playing, or hearing about 1 game that gets them excited about the platform. I bought an Xbox 360 after seeing Gears of War covered at E3. It wasn't out for a relatively long time after I bought my system, but it was the primary motivator. I do agree with you though that it's pretty likely within a relatively short period of time a newer better refined model of the 3DS will emerge. The price may drop sooner than we think too. Seems more often than in the past being an early adopter is a bad idea. Still I would like to see both systems in action. Just doubt I want to purchase either for awhile.
