30 games available between March 27th & E3 in June. Nintendo was really trying to mask this to make it sounds like HUGE numbers would be available early but expect less then 10 games at launch (prob 7-8).
At least the price is decent. 299 or 349 was being thrown around in many sources. That being said, It'll probably come up to 329 or similar in Mexico. Fuck that.
mmmh world economical crisys 250 euros here 3-5 hours of gameplay region lock supposedly gave headaches in most people that tried it mmh my moneys are far from nintendo...
man sometimes i feel that 3ds won´t be a huge sucess, 250 dollars, region lock, friend codes, to 3 - 5 hours and almost the same time to charge.
4 words: still too fucking expensive $50 over a Wii, what parent in this economy will pay that for something that will end all scratched and banged in less than a month? We still don't know the price of the games but I can picture how expensive those will be. And £230 in londonistan? thats almost $500! All things considered IT WILL WIN Why? because the DS won and the Wii did too, and all of them had more or less the same defects (weak specs, high price, gimmicks, etc...)
Yeah, I already mentioned that before...........about 24 times IIRC But you see, it's made by nintendo! the only company besides apple that could take a shit in a box, sell it, and get people to actually buy it!
Just seen some screenshots of Super Monkey Ball 3DS. Graphics are nice, if there's an option to turn off the 3D it could be a good straightforward Nintendo Next Gen handheld.
You can turn the 3d off. I will be buying it. 250$ aint bad considering how good it looks. The psp was that much at launch and was worth every penny
Just been checking Amazon UK and they have it for £219.99, RRP is £229.99. Crazy. I give it three weeks after release until there's a working flash cart. :flamethrower:
Was gonna preorder it, but then realised it was £165 if I bought it in the states comparative to £230 here.. I'll import the bugger.
Then you must import all your games too. Anyway, too expensive. Not enough games. Maybe 6 months to a year after it's out it might be worth looking at. The PSP was $250 when I bought it but I really wanted the Mega Man games on it. Also the emulators and such were interesting too. I suppose that's nothing new though, the system needs some killer titles to get me to buy it. While some titles look nice I'm not going to spend that much money to get them. The N64 OoT and Star Fox 64 updates look nice but then again it's easy to improve on the blurry texture mess that they were.
IF I buy one I hope someone starts producing replacement analogue sticks. That grey on black looks really out of place. It's weird how the coloured units are two tone.
I am not surprised this is the price, but with the iphone coming to verizon, I think I will put my money on the iphone first. Might get one in the summer.
There is a 3d on/off switch however i imagine that if there is a switch many titles will have gimmick 3d features that are definately doing nothing for gameplay accept make it look cool. Think if it. Nintendo doesn't launch features for nothing... And although those wii promo videos at first looked nice, you could have a seizure and still hack your way through the first Zelda game. Only after the extra sensor they launched (OOPS! sorry guys!) are the motion controls somewhat adding to gameplay. Until there is a killer app that needs the 3d, it's just another handheld. An expensive one at that.
