I have the 256mb v64jr if youre interested, i wasnt even aware of a 512 version. Comes with the save cart I love the N64DD, they are awesome
I have now tested the 750MB ZIP drive with a 750MB ZIP disk. I backed up 400MB of carts to it, all loaded without any problems. ZIP 750 drives do indeed work great with the Z64 Cheers, CF

Thanx Wheelaa! Havn't done any work on the Marty yet, but I sure would like to. Understanding TownsOS better would be cool. That IC Card slot must be put into use of course. And adding RGB would be nice Just recently I got a keyboard and mouse for it, so it's a start.. Do you (still) have a TC Station? Would be very interesting to learn more about it. CF
Ooh, someone used my superfx mod I've since tried Vortex with a 28MHz crystal, and it works great. But, some sfx chips don't run at any faster speeds, because of manufacturing tolerances.
Hey marshallh! Thanks for the update and for sharing your mod in the first place! Some of those SuperFX games really need it too The effect on Vortex was very noticeable. I posted a message in your thread when I got it working on the 13th of May Cheers! CF

Nice collection! I like all the modifications in the systems, just great! Where do you come from?
the mgd2 neo geo interface is very impressive h: This thing is extremely rare, where did you get it? btw, do you also have a Doctor PC Junior?
Got the Neo-Geo interface from a private collector. He had bought it back in the days from Game Choice Club (GCC). Before we closed the deal, I asked him about the graphic glitches some people have reported to be a problem. He told me that he had returned several to GCC, and finaly forced them to test it for him before they sent it, and that this one was fully working. Some of the MGD2 boxes I got in the same shipment have GCC stickers: Game Choice Club com. http://www.gamechoiceclub.com.hk Fax: (852) 2482-3350 I have tested it with a few small games, and I am surprised how well it works. But I must admit I havn't testet it too much yet, and is still playing around with BOOTNG.X02, BPNGCHK1.X02 and tools such as ROMbuild. Would love to have a Doctor PC Jr. It's one the top of my FC list together with the 3.5" interface for Game Master. CF
I also got most of my MGD2 stuff from GameChoiceClub. Unfortunately I got my MGD2 with a broken disk drive. It took me about a year to find a working replacement. Luckily I have the PC link cable. Gamechoiceclub had the Doctor PC Jr in stock years ago. Unfortunately these days it is near impossible to find such a unit :-(
Great that you found a replacement! How did you do it - did you find a compatible drive or did you mod a regular 34-pin drive? I have a feeling details on this topic might come handy one day CF
A friend of mine collects old laptops. He has an old 386 noname unit with a citizen floppy drive. The citizen floppy fits perfectly into the mgd2 and has the same connector as the original sony floppys which where originally supplied with the mgd2. First, he was not willing to give away his nice floppy. So I searched ebay and bought a similar drive - unfortunately it accepted only 720K disks. Later I got his citizen floppy in exchange for another old laptop. Now I can load 1,44MB disks fine. The only downside is the missing frontcover. Are interested in the product number of the citizen floppy?
very nice collection, i wish i had your dedication to actually finish off one of my many half-finished console mods. i realise its the only thing unmodded but i too would love to hear some more about the marty, what games do you have and how are they, pros and cons of the system?
mdmx, the Citizen product number would be very nice to know My MGD2 has a 26-pin Mitsubishi MF355S-215MG drive. I tried to find this drive online. Most the units I found had product numbers that were almost the same, but not 100% the same, such as MF355S-212MG and MF355S-412MG. Don't know that the difference is... Found the guide below this christmas, and hope that it will be useful if anyone wants to convert a regular 34-pin drive: http://www.hardcore-modding.com/ftopict-37670.html Gotta find time to check it out... have no idea if it will work yet. A challenge CF
Thanks a lot sven666! I really enjoy to dev/mod/hack ;-) Now what more to say about the Marty..... There is a lot of crap written about it - that's for sure. As you know it was expensive, but while it was considered to be a high-end gaming system and sure is a quality piece of hardware, it is actually tempting to believe what has been written about it: In reality it was mostly used by rich folks to watch hentai... Just look at the games www.gamechoiceclub.com has to offer. Some of the arcade games for the system are pretty good however. I like many of the shooters on the Marty such as Raiden Densetsu, Rayxanber and Viewpoint. While Viewpoint on the Marty for example doesn't have as cool a beat as the PlayStation version, nor the arcade feeling of the Neo-Geo version/hardware, it is still a very good game in my opinion. Very playable. Very nice graphics. Good sound. The LucasArts adventures are impressive too with great sound. Most, if not all, LucasArts games on the Marty have English language as an option too. Very convenient. Other games such as Turbo Outrun and Chase HQ are rather disappointing. Don't forget that the Marty really is a PC-based console. I think it feels like a PC, rather than say an Amiga. I.e. the pixels seem more square then the tall-pixels of a non-interlaced Amiga, if you know what I mean. The controller that comes with the system isn't very good and if you plan to play a lot you probably want a better 3rd party controller as well as an extension cable. For games such as the LucasArts adventures and Operation Wolf the Marty mouse is needed too as far as I remember. Today the Marty hardware isn't that expensive, and fun to check out. The challenge is to get the games. Many of the good games are both expensive and hard to find I believe. If I hadn't bought the Marty at the same time as one of my best friends, who also invested quite some money in it, it could have been quite boring from a gaming point of view CF
the difference in the model numbers could be the compatibility. My actual Citizen floppy is compatible with HD disks, but the Citizen I've had before was only compatible with DD disks. My CITIZEN: U1DA-64G 5V 420mA btw, are you sure that a standard 3,5 inch floppy would fit into the mgd2 case?
