 http://www.gameswire.net/screenshots/after-burner-climax-26-live-arcade-shots_497.html *Link stolen from neogaf* God please let this hit PSN also. I already have Outrun HD on my PS3
yeah, and (outrun online arcade) it's buggy as fuck on the PS3. I haven't been able to compete once online without the game messing up the graphics after the first junction. Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the PS3 hangs my console sometimes when I want to play online...and I have to manually reset. I haven't been able to buy anything on the 360 so I get my games on the PS3, but the fact that I ll be using the joystick to control my plane means that I d rather have it on the XBOX. The graphics/framerate should be tighter as usual too
Meh, I don't care about online in outrun. I just play the straight up racer and that has been fine on ps3 (my version comes from the HK store). That is why you don't buy shit from backbone. Everybody knows this by now. :icon_bigg
FINALLY! They better not screw this up, after all, arcade games are the only thing Sega is good at anymore, and this looks to be at OutRun2's level.
Backbone's one of those companies that make a living out of doing half (or full) emulated titles (mostly for download services) Though, I don't know how Marvel vs Capcom 2 fares on the PS3, but the 360 version works smoothly. However, the same can not be said of the netcode in some of their other online compatible ventures. [edit] Seeing Afterburner Climax hit XBLA is le awesome. Can't wait. I've already spent a good few hours playing Outrun Online Arcade w/my cheapo Logitech Driving Force FX wheel, so I guess I'll have to dust off my HORI Flight Stick EX for some Afterburner
I play it with a G25 wheel (paddle shifters/sequential stick) which is a dream for outrun. I prefer it over the 360 version because I never play racing games on the ps3 with a pad (except for some Classics like Hi-Octane, or WipeOut, Motorstorm etc) Saying that one game's fatal error and the others sever graphic bugs are a fair comparison of competence.. is to ignore that both are equally dysfunctional for one of their core features, online play
For ps3? If so, get some HK PSN points. It's on the HK store. That is how I got it as it was never released in USA for PS3 (only HK & UK). The price is pretty reasonable on the HK store.
I'm not quite sure what happened on that front. But the game came out around the time Sony announced they'd made a brand spankin' new Ferrari deal for Gran Turismo 5... I honest to god wouldn't be surprised if there was an odd connection there. But, yeah, grabbing it from another regional version of PSN is possible... but playing online might be a bit wonky... as I guess it's always a possibility that the multiplayer's broken in the PS3 version (I see many horror stories for that one)
nope, for 360 but I guess I could do the same thing. I do have the demo version of Out Run from the UK XboxLive site so that is one way I could go I guess.
Man, slightly OT, but jesus, every other post from Barc0de seems to be an advert for the G25, or at least his love for it :110:
Just an update. This game is in the latest famitsu for both 360 & PS3. So it's confirmed for both platforms. Yakumo, I guess this means a jpn release for you this time. =)
I can't stress enough how important to is to play arcade/sim games on a wheel. I used to play with a controller and it was OK but I was blown away by the real thing. I m openly encouraging racing fans to get a wheel, yes  @Taucias: n900 I m surprised you don't like this tablet/phone Jim!
Seconded. But, quick, we better go into hiding before the gamepad fanatics (or even worse; the "Mouse+KB or fuck off" guys) read this and see it as a post encouraging the use of alternate controller schemes or motion controls... they've been very nasty lately! :-(
