is this content to be found on the internet? youtube perhaps? I am in dire need of some afterburner, I check PSN every week to no avail, I m kinda desperate.
This is the 2nd time Play x Play have featured Afterburner Climax. The first time was at the Shooting Festa in Tokyo a few weeks back. While most of the Japanese 360 shows and contents is poor the Play x Play shows do feature some good stuff. A search on YouTube brought up nothing for Afterburner although I did find other Play x Play shows. Maybe someone will add it in the future. I'd do it myself but I only have HD cables for my 360 and my Video Capture card is SD only. I could always point the HD videocamera in fron of the TV screen though  Yakumo
Release dates have finally been announced. Wednesday 21st on Live, and the 22nd on PSN. It's also coming to the Euro PSN on the same day
The graphics aren't anything bleeding edge, so there should be minor differences between the two versions - although I m inclined to believe the 360 version will run/look better as usual.. The other factor is the controller. Too bad for me I can only buy PSN stuff. Live doesn't like my Greek ip in tandem with my UK credit cards
Well, so far Sega are pushing the 360 version so I guess that's the better (if there is one) version. At the shooting festa it was the 360 version shown and on a recent news topic it was the 360 version again. The new flight stick is also shown with the 360. Seems strange to me when the 360 is the underdog in Japan or is it actually making a come back? The releases are far more healthy than the likes of the Wii that's for sure. Yakumo
The 360 is a good platform (note how I don't say it's a good console, it's made of crap!). I love how there are so many good games to download, aswell. The PSN doesn't hold a candle in comparison with the exception of a few titles like Flower, GTi Club, etc.
The US Playstation website has a mockup cover of it (a PS3 case with After Burner Climax logo), but if a game is to be a PSN release only they never do that. All PSN exclusive games use a different icon. I'm hoping this means it's going to get a blu-ray disc release.
Afterburner Climax should be out TODAY!! April 21st in Japan but it's not up. Come on Microsoft! Update the bloody arcade section! I would have thought it would be up by now, it's almost 7pm.
No idea but I ended up getting it from the Canadian Marketplace http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-CA/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258410a06/ Just download it from there with your PC then use the BUY FULL GAME or UNLOCK FULL GAME option on your 360 to get it. So far this is the only place it's up. UK, NO. Japan, NO. US, NO. They're really lazy with these download times.
I'll fire up the ol' 360 to see if the Region 4 (Latin America) market place has it. If it does, I'm getting a points card. I'm excited for this one, for certain.
Not that it's very important, but I noticed the game doesn't really have a specific way of detecting flight stick controllers. However, for those with flight sticks; Type D is the way to go (to get the throttle to behave properly) (On the 360, anyway)
I've certainly had fun with it. In fact, I've been sat here all night on it, I've got all 12 Trophies and unlocked all of the EX Options. I was hoping the PS3 would turn into an R-360 as a special reward... This is the first time I've played the game so I can't tell you if it's true to the original Arcade version or not. Took a few goes to get used to it but now I'm getting on fine with a PS3 pad. I suppose the real lasting appeal is the online Score Attack board unless you just fancy a quick crack on Arcade mode. Turns out that there is some extra stuff in the Xbox version:
