It was repaired 3 times I might get a newer 360 before the system is discontinued. I feel like I have the only early model 360 that still works.
My sister's 360 also had the RROD 3 times... or was it 6 times? Anyway, her early model 360 (no HDMI) still works to this day. My dad's 360 is an original white 360 with HDMI. I took her official HD AV cable for recording gameplay and gave her a Mad Catz Xbox 360 HDMI adapter to use instead. Seems to work ok, but her AV port is becoming loose to the point of resetting the console if the cable is touched. This was happening before I plugged in the Mad Catz adapter. If you want a new 360, stay clear of the new Xbox 360 E models. They lack a TOSLINK port and the AV port. It only outputs over HDMI or a 3.5mm jack supplying Composite video and stereo audio. I definitely recommend the Xbox 360 S models. I have one and it's awesome! Kinect doesn't require a separate power supply.
My old 360 RRODed on me only once, but then I sold it to get the 360S, which doesn't RROD, and that was by far the largest reason (the only other one was that mine lacked HDMI) Sonic 2 is, quite simply, the greatest video game of all time. There are few hills I am willing to die on, but that is one of them. Also, your parents let you play Halo 2 and COD 3 when you were 10? Mine wouldn't let me till I was 17 (the ESRB was very important to them, very). Yeah, with like 20 years of experience at that game, I can stay completely dry in Act 1 of Aquatic Ruin, and in Act 2 the only tricky part is the jumping at the very beginning. Still don't have much trouble with the zone at all.
I actually didn't play them until I was 11 or 12. I was scared of Halo for some reason. I now love the series and can go back and play it anytime. I've been playing shooters since I was 9. Started with Battlefield 1942 and the first COD (plus expansion) on PC. Those were the days when COD and Battlefield weren't M Rated games. I only played T-Rated games and below then. My dad plays games too (though not as much nowadays) so he knew what was ok for us and what wasn't. I wasn't allowed to play GTA until I was 17. My parents taught us that none of it was real and to never try those things in real life. He even made us stop watching Power Rangers because he didn't want us trying to do those moves in real life and end up hurting each other or worse. They also paid attention to the ESRB ratings and what content was in the game.
Well, at least I got to watch Power Rangers (and VR Troopers, anyone remember that show?). I've never been a big speedrunner, but I definitely want to do a few videos of it.
Oooh maan, I very vaguely remember the commercials for VR Troopers. I was more into Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales... Oh the memories.
Goddamn Chao Raising, My Chao file got corrupted and I was up until 3am last night trying to recreate my lost chao.........and then a bat screwed it all up. RIP Joxer and Bun Bun. RIP Joxer Jr LONG LIVE Bun Bun 2
The colored containers enemies drop correspond to different attributes. Abusing chao will determine weither it becomes a dark chao or hero chao. So say you're raising a Chao with Sonic, if you have Eggman toss it around like a football to the point it runs away from him then it helps that chao become a hero chao (or you can not traumatize your AI and feed it hero fruits) That's what I've gathered.
Despite the improvements, I always vastly preferred the Chao raising in the original SA to the Chao raising in SA2, the VMU aspect just seemed a lot better for some reason. That said, I don't really notice the aging of Dreamcast games. I play NFL2K1 several times a week in franchise mode and it looks good enough to me (also: Border Down, Shenmue, Virtual On Oratorio Tangram, etc. etc. etc.)
Virtual On Oratorio Tangram is one of those games I just keep forgetting I own. I really need to learn that one. It's an amazing game
Just to correct me, Crazy Taxi in Android got the original songs not the pc version. Original songs, bad controls, can't play it.
I have the DC version, but I don't think I've played it. I found an arcade unit at a place when I went to Toledo and played it then. Fun game.
You should. I remember I spent a week focusing on it one summer and unlocking all of the extras, it really was a blast and learning all of the characters in the game was very rewarding. Few things are as rewarding as unlocking Ajim though... or as frustrating... Speaking of VOOT, does anybody else prefer the controller to the twin sticks? The amount of time it took me to move those sticks around was considerably larger than the amount of time it took me to manipulate the controller (consider jumping (which, with the controller, is your primary means of staying focused on your opponent): pulling the sticks outwards vs. pushing Y). Maybe it was just because I mastered the game with a controller before I owned the twin sticks... I dunno.
I ONLY play with the controller. Speaking of which I need to grab the original on JPSN the only VO game I'm missing is the Model 2 collection version and the Saturn version of the first game. Otherwise I have the perfect VO collection. and I SUCK at Force!
