Wasn't it region-locked on 360 anyway? I see Cave are continuing with their ripoff pricing too.

Yeah it was region locked there were rumblings of Cave bringing it over but they've gotten quiet recently. It's a shame ketsui is one of my favorite Cave games. So When I get my PS3 this is one game I'm getting along with it.

Asking full price for one ten-year-old arcade game is just ridiculous, they should just put all of their older games on one disc instead of making these ripoff releases for dumbshit weeaboos. To be honest I lost all interest in Cave games due to all the recent ones being subpar - I did buy Mushihime-sama Futari since it was region free, but it's just not any good.

I think Cave's Best recent games are Akai Katana and ESPGaluda 2. I LOVE Ketsui though and I'd pay a good amount for it. I was willing to pay over $100 for the DS port.

But now that I have a Saturn, I can't justify getting the newer Shmups since like you say they seem to pander to weeaboos who suck at them.

Gotta sell the niche Genre to somebody though right?

Cave is an overrated developer anyway: other than Dodonpachi, by far their best game, I prefer Raizing's or Psikyo's shmups. Even Taito's underrated Layer Section is better than most things in the Cave library. I suspect that a lot of Cave's fandom is because they're the last company still making shmups: besides, they're responsible for the shitty bullet hell genre, so that's another mark against them.

To each their own. I'm with you on Raizing though, Sokyugaruntai is one of my favorite shmups like, ever. I enjoy MOST of my Cave shmups, DDP Resurrection is MEH, Pink Sweets WAY too hard and Muchi Muchi Pork is just WTF.

Good music in the latter two though.

I agree with everything you said except the Psikyo bit(I HATE Psikyo). Tecno Soft (pre-TFV) for life!!!!! And Raizing >>>> Cave all day every day! And Batsugun >>>>>> Cave's entire library, even though the Cave people technically made Batsugun.

What might be multiplatform in Europe is bafflingly PS3 Exclusive in the US (Angrily stares at Under Defeat HD)

It is and G.Rev like so many other Japanese Devs blame it on Microsoft DISPITE the fact that region locking on the 360 Is up to the companies.

I'd say Halo 3, 4, and Reach (not ODST, I didn't like that one much), Kameo, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, and the Viva Pinata games (though Rare has gone *massively* downhill since their N64 days of excellence), and Perfect Dark on the XBLA (my favourite game ever, though 4J studios practically wiped away all chance of finding an online game with it, with their bugged release (how is it possible to work so long on a game port and still release it with such major bugs and glitches?). I would NOT say Perfect Dark Zero, of course.

Other people would say the Gears of War games, the Fable games, the Project Gotham and Forza games, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 (if you don't want to play them on PC), and maybe the Crackdown games. But personally, I think there's not too much to choose between the PS3 and the 360. I have both and though I prefer the 360 (because of it's controller, the fact that you can install any game to hard drive, and I prefer the 360's exclusives to the PS3's, though I do like LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, Infamous (not played I2 yet), Resistance 1 and 2 (I have R3 but not played it yet), Killzone 2 and 3, etc) if I had to have only one I'd almost be happy with either, though I'd slightly prefer the 360.

Perhaps the fact you aren't supporting Sony? I'll buy a used PS3 at some point but not a new one.

    much the same.

i probably would have already bought one if they didnt remove the linux support and backwards compatibility. although not major issues now as i have a working Fatass PS2. although it would have made a nice linux + bluray box for the main TV

i'll get a used one when they're cheap.
