Nothing surprised me more than when I saw him acting with an American accent in some lame medical drama.

Hmm, I didn't know House was British. I never really looked into the show though.

Speaking of house, I don't really like it that much, but he's got some funny one liners.

House was alright for the first few times I saw it, a friend showed me it on DVD. It looks like it kind of repeats itself after awhile. I didn't know he's british. How do you do an american accent if your british? Is it hard?

yeah how many time is it going to be a "Brain Tumor"

how many time can they say "House you're an addict"

Even when they got the guy from Harald and Kumar as one of House's lackys the show remaind the same.

    But Still...I watch.

With few exceptions, unless they're a career impressionist, I don't think most actors have any place on film trying to switch from British to American English or vice versa. Watching Americans try and affect a British accent is cringeworthy almost without exception, and I daresay the reverse is just as true.

Most Brits are fooled when I slap an accent on. but my Southern US accent is horrible and I can't for the life of me make a passable Australian accent.

    Stick it on youtube.

That's a challenge. If you honestly manage to make me not laugh at your attempt at a British accent, I'll be happy to admit it.

Nah. In fairness Taucias is English anyway (unless my memory betrays me once again), so I reckon he was just taking the piss. Mostly you lot try to mix landed gentry with cockney, throw in terms like "gotten" and "off of", and end up sounding completely un-British.

I'm not giving you any more tips. Go make that video.

The weirdest thing I found about being in America: every person you talk to, all of them, without fail, said how much they loved the "English" accent (it's British, actually, and I was born in Wales, but you have to let these things slide since as far as I can tell only England exists in the public US awareness). To this day I have no idea whether everyone I met was just being nice, or whether it's genuinely the case.

The other weird thing about America was the breakfasts. I tend to think I have a fairly solid constitution, capable of consuming eating fatty stuff early in the morning, but honestly - a pile of waffles with bacon and syrup and blueberries on the top? At 10AM? I came away amazed that the American public in general were as thin as they were, because it certainly seemed like large amounts of fatty foods were being consumed just about everywhere at all times of day.

The 21 for alcohol thing is pretty fucked up too.

I think the breakfast thing isn't all the time. It never was for me anyway, but on like weekends etc, yeah.

The 21 thing for Alcohol is stupid I think, it just makes people drink more under that age and then they can develop problems with it! I turn 21 soon, but I don't drink now and probably never will just because I don't want to. Plus the smell of almost every kind of alcohol makes me feel sick, as most things do. My stomach probably couldn't handle it.
