Well, this clearly isn't intended for gamers like us. If we have any need for a Wii, we'll be going after the first (or even second) model.
It's literally just a device to stick in the kid's room or lazy rec room to pop off some Wii sessions without much else involved.
No Wii Shop, no online, no communication, no 480p, no SD card.

WHO KNOWS: someone could possibly mod this to have internet access (adding back the web-based channels and features) and add component video out back. Would be fun mods just because.

I'm not really pissed off at the Wii Mini. Just like I wasn't pissed off when Nintendo took out GCN backward-compatibility in a device that had been on the market for years already -- "If you want it that badly, just buy it second-hand."

 

agree'd there's so many wii's out there now easy and cheap to get hold of.

 

yep i saw a black wii for $30 used no box yesterday they are starting to clear them out for almost next to nothing due to the release of Wii-U

 

I suppose if people (ape) are interested I can forward them to the rest of the world.
If it is going to be a Canada exclusive I don't believe there's many here who can/are willing to/are able to forward them.

I won't be buying one. Local classifieds has them at extremely cheap prices, and pre-modded with everything I could ever need.

Plus I just emulate the Wii anyway.

 

Imo its one of the ugliest console Nintendo ever released, right beside the virtual boy. Same color scheme to boot.

 

i can't believe it doesn't have component output. i was planning to buy one as soon as a way to enable homebrew channel from usb was made possible. but no 480p just kills it for me.

 

Look at all the ebay sellers selling this as Canadian exclusive collector item. Its quite funny. I did not read about it much but its going to be released elsewhere eventually right? I cant believe they made this exclusively for us. I almost feel touched enough to buy one :redface-new:

What's the point with a Wii you can't play GC games on, and can't download VC games with?
Especially when the Wii U IS ALREADY OUT
