It's possible in my house Well apart from the PSP that is. TV is Sharp, Monitor by Mitsubishi, Stereo by Kenwood, Video by Panasonic, DVD by Samsung, Doorbell by National (Panasonic), Fridge by National (Panasonic), Washing Machine by Sanyo, MD by Sharp, Mobile and normal house phone by Sharp, Vacumcleaner by Sharp and consoles by Sega, SKN, Nintendo oh and errrrr Sony So as you can se it's very easy to live without Sony Products. And just to rub it in I've never had a problem with anything but my mate who's a Sony nut always has one thing or another broken. Yakumo PS: Just looking at that list makes me look like a Sharp fanboy I'm not though. Just like their products.
My Jap PSP that I got on release day is perfect. The square button is fine and the disc drive latches perfectly. It does stick out very very slightly but it has never opened. Guess I got lucky.......but I have heard so much problems. I have found on Minna golf (portable) that if you sleeep the unit and then turn it on again it can sometimes freeze. But that's why you have a memory stick - to save your game! lol. However, I bought a 15" Sony LCD monitor for my PS2 Linux kit (cos I wanted to be flash and have all Sony stuff for my kit) and it had two dead pixels next to each other glowing permanently red. The shop initially wouldn't take it back until I kicked up a fuss. They are now selling at 10% discount.........6 months on and it's still not sold! There is no excuse for poor quality merchandise, if it has a dead pixel it should be repaired or replaced. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.............................(ever heard of that one, Sony/Sharp??)
So wait... Jap PSP = no dead pixels reported here USA PSP = almost 100% pixel rate failure reported here That takes the piss.
there was loads of talk about dead pixels on the Jap psp as well when it first came out. Also its not 100%... its abit of an exageration isnt it... Anyway anyone seen any pictures of a USA one taken apart yet?
I said "reported here", just something I noticed from this thread. Besides either way it takes the piss
umm yea it does seem to suck. I made a point of opening mine before i parted with cash. Wasnt gonna get done on a dead pixel when i wanted to buy it early because of the nice sharp screen...
I'm gonna be an arse here and say that your house is probably full of Sony-made chips, like the ubiquitous RGB encoder that's in the Saturn, for instance...
Im sorry, people today are low expectation consumers, 1 dead pix is 1 to many, and the fact Sony is trying to BS and pass it off as normal is a joke. im no fan boy of any system, cause i have em all, and sony has always jacked me in some way with their terd warranty micro print. yeas MS had a defect but they owned up and shelled out an ass load of money to fix it. all i know is my 8 bit NES that i got in like 1987 still works fine, i outlived 2 PS1s and a PS2
I don't have that much Sony stuff. I know you are exaggeratting but damn...I have like 32 GBA games, 8 or 10 GC games, 3 Xbox games, 2 Sega Saturn games, and I yes I do have a bunch of PS1/PS2 games, but thats because the PS1 has some of my favorite rpgs, thanks to Working Designs. I need to spend my b-day money on a new SNES sometime soon. And I have 80+ games so maybe more like 50% Sony. Besides the Sony hate is getting boring. There are probably 6 or 7 topics about the same stuff over and over. I did say I was going to wait for the PSP, too, as a matter of fact.
Silly to say but i don't know if i have dead pix. but then again now i have 3 maybe four i think my screen is dieing.
