Unreal Chamipnship sounds cool, I used to play Unreal Tournament 2004 on the PC, how do these games compare?
Give it some time, I'm currently trying to set everything up, still need a component cable and of course some game to softmod my console, but I'll definitely come back to
play some nice multiplayer-sessions with you!

Unreal Championship is pretty much just a port of Unreal Tournament 2003, so no vehicles & such but everything else is otherwise pretty similar.

It's actually much more different than that.

With Unreal Championship, each race has their own special abilities (i.e. differing max health values, adrenaline gaining speeds, jump height, etc.), each character has a special weapon affiliation/preference where that particular weapon does more damage for you and you can carry more ammo for it, different story mode, not quite as many characters to choose from, some maps slightly different and more challenging as well as some exclusive maps, no sniper rifle or redeemer (lightning gun is there), different soundtrack (slightly better imho), and a few differences in artwork.

Given the fact that Epic pretty much finished UC and spent more time completing UT2003, you can say that UC2003 is a port of UC. In some ways, I like Unreal Championship better, even with it's lack of user made mods.

@blueshogun IMO Unreal Championship 2 is the better game for lan tunneling and the 4 vs 4 games and having Raiden from mortal kombat is pretty bad ass. Unreal Championship is fun to play but the frame rate tends to dip well below the 30fps and can leave games feeling very unsmooth. Halo 2 is a given and is a staple and for Doom 3 4 player tdm and DM games are fun for short spurts.

May I suggest Conkers BFD where it's Team Fortress approach and much more stable frame rate make it less of a headache to play and has more IMO interesting maps to play on. And both Castle Wolfenstein and Soldiers of Fortune 2 runs smooth and stable provided you have at least one Xbox running as a dedicated server.

Like I mentioned previously before Soldiers of Fortune 2 a severely underated game back in the day is no looker and down right looks like a N64 game but it runs in and around 60 fps and smooth as butter and has many staple multiplayer modes of modern shooters today and limbs that blow off and gore.

I agree that UCII is better, no offense to UC1 fans, but although the game was fun to play in its own right, I felt that all of the minor adjustment to the PC's UT2003, which I don't think much of either, were quite simple ideas that didn't affect the core gameplay much. I mean, all of the little extra features could've just been turned into mutators.

Doom 3 has extreme amounts of lag at 180 ping or up. The screen shakes like crazy & at 250 or higher, you can't switch weapons, everytime you hit next weapon or reload you just pick out a random one.

The Counter Strike tournament mod is a good pickup, you can play 16 player games with a mix of human & bot players without using dedicated servers. It also lets you choose which weapons bots buy & of course adds dozens of maps like cs_assault, de_train & de_nuke.

Hmm yeah I've heard about that counterstrike mod seems interesting I would assume you need a softmodded and or chipped Xbox to install those mods. Wouldn't mind playing that version. And yeah about doom 3 lagging it happens when you do a four player system link small amount of lag. Here's a trash game with little or no lag via link Fight Club, so help me god this game is utter shit but it gives killer instinct a run for it's money lol.

If you really want to go into the deep end crap of xlink games try Chicago Enforcer the load time will drive all those in the lobby to quit haha and World War II combat road to Berlin, Iwo Jima, and task force 121 all three just reskins of the same game straight up lazy but the death screams take the cake after each kill oh man comedy gold :).

Before I forget for those that like so com esque gameplay via switchable 1st and 3rd view 25 to life is a more than respectable xlink and system link game to play minimal lag even on 100 plus ping of course YMMV. Cops vs OG gangsters think of it
Iike a poor homeless man version of battlefield Hard line just kidding :).

As you can see I am new to this forum but I signed up when I saw this thread as I have wanted to play xbox games other than halo 2 over xlink kai. I have got the following games that I would love to play: Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Midtown Madness 3, Moto GP 1 or 2, Star Wars: Battlefront 1 or 2, Star Wars: Republic Commando and TimeSplitters 2 or 3. However, I am happy to play any game that I have got to see how it plays online.
Has a date been organised for the next game session?

EDIT: Forgot to say that my Xtag is EvilBubblez21 so add me.

Is there any cheap ways to get the machine online standalone? Would the only viable option be using a WLAN bridge that was OpenWRT worthy and then using that to connect to XBC/Kai?

Hi all I have created a google calendar for original xbox gaming.

People who used xlink kai, XBSlink and XBconnect are spread all over the net on facebook, xlink kai forums etc. It's impossible to get everyone together on one website to schedule games. It's like trying to herd cats

Anyways the google calendar is public. But I need some people to PM me their email addresses here so that I can add you. That way you have permissions to add other people to the calendar and to share it.""

Here's a link to the calendar:

    https://www.google.com/calendar/emb...group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Chicago

I suggest that assembler games members who are interested in scheduling games use the calendar to do so.

To embed the calendar embed this HTML code on any website:

    Code:
    <iframe src="https://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=auac17t8s757r3m04mcmlui3r0%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/Chicago" style="border: 0" width="800" height="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>
Remember to PM me if you want permission to edit and share it. Let's do this!

    Thanks all for your interest!

Phantom Dust monthly game night 3 was a HUGE success! with it lasting over 7 hours, a whopping 22 players online playing at the same time (although I only got a screenshot of it at 19) & around about 35 players who attended the event in total, making it the Original Xbox gaming event apart from Halo 2 with the highest attendance in years. If you missed out on this occasion then there WILL be a game night 4 still to come.

Anybody interested in getting an event going on August 8th & August 9th? I'm communicating this with 2 other sites & already we have around about 7 people interested in this. Time & games are yet to be decided though it's looking pretty likely Halo 2 & Rainbow Six 3 will be played.

Also just a friendly reminder for Phantom Dust fans, the 4th monthly game night is still happening on sunday next week!
