I liked how squalls character slowly opens up during the game, i thought the character progression with him was done pretty good tbh
@geluda Going really well. I'm about 20 hours in, I just hopped over to Galbadia Garden to fight Seifer and Edea again. Definitely loving the game so far. There's been a bunch of 'gotcha' moments for me, and I haven't even made it to disc 3 yet. I still like Squall a lot, even more now that you're given the option to express his feelings and compassion. Quistis and Rinoa are still my favorite, although I should probably start giving the others some level-up love. The little love stories are great and have pulled me in. I enjoy how everything is connected. There's always something that ties a character in to another seemingly uninvolved character. Also no action goes unnoticed or without consequence, except for I guess one... I'll probably switch back to FFVI whenever I finish VIII, then I want to give VII a shot. Simply because I like VIII so much. Definitely worth the time put in.
Ah so you just started disc 2? Glad you like it! For me the character development and personal relationships is definitely what I love most about it, I'm a huge lover of character driven stories.
I'm not really sure how far into disc 2 I am. My thought would be that I would switch to disc 3 after the Seifer and Edea fight since that's what happened with the disc 1 to disc 2 change. I REALLY want to see what happens with Laguna. At first I wasn't really interested in his story, but it pulled me in when Ellone gets involved. A lot of stuff has confused me, such as the Norg fight. Still that remains one of my favorite parts so far. You never really know what is real or not. Although there seems to be a lot of clues as to what happened to Squall during that first fight with Edea. UPDATE So I am now prepping for the final battle. Laguna has given his speech and I'm just grinding my lesser used characters up. I've loved this game so far. The space scenes with Squall and Rinoa were absolutely awesome. Seeing Squall get so worked up was actually a shock to me. Awesome character development.
