I think people need to remember a couple of things with this title, so here's a couple of bullet points worth of food for thought; 1. It's not certain if Microsoft will release the 360 version or not. (yet) 2. Regardless of the situation with 1, it's still an unreleased title set to come out on the Xbox One. I don't think anyone here would want another incident where people draw unneeded attention from lawyers, waving C&Ds and what not all over the place (or mainly ASSEMbler's inbox) because someone wants to boost their e-penis pre-maturely with something that's still in active development.
Looks like someone on the Lost Levels forums posted about owning this. I have zero idea about this game, just pointing it out.
From Page 5 of this thread: From the Lost Levels: Chances are high it is the same person. Interesting that it seems to be a novice collector.
The Xbox one version is out soon and playable with a controller, while it would still nice to try the 360 version, I think I'd prefer playing it with a pad
That's fantastic news. no more shitty Kinect only controls. I welcome this news but I can't help feel that the game won't look any better than a 360 game. Such a small studio aren't going to re-draw all the textures again in such a short time.
Not all of them, but maybe they took the time to touch up a few key ones (e.g. dragon models). Or they might work with very high quality assets that had to be downsampled for the 360 builds, so they could reduce that downsampling somewhat. And they could probably bump up the resolution, if that was a limit before. Granted, all this likely won't make the game look much better, but maybe enough to make a bit of difference.
The way the terrain is sort of water stone/corral like in many of the locations and a lot of terrain seem to depend on middleware/procedural population of stuff, I think locations still look pretty solid in the Xbox One version. Either way, I guess whatever they had running on the 360 will now be 1080p/60FPS on the One version. Eye candy! As for the controls ... if Child of Eden is anything to go by, I seriously hope they managed to make the game less "stiff" with a gamepad, 'cause Child of Eden is borderline impossible to enjoy (gameplay wise) with a controller vs. its Kinect counterpart (and playing it with Kinect is absolutely awesome once you get "into the rhythm" -- although I guess Crimson Dragon might not exactly have the benefit of being designed around music ... unless there's an awesome underlying pattern to the enemy placement in each level ala. StarFox 64/Lylatwars)
There's no reason why Crimson's pad controls should be awful. They should be the same as all the other panzer dragoon games to be honest.
It seems the soundtrack for the XBO version is different from the one I linked months ago. http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?p=57741#post57741
So the game is out and it's now confirmed the tracks Saori Kobayashi composed for it have been replaced by music composed by Jeremy Garren. The music composed for the XBOX 360 version is not totally lost though: Crimson Dragon Side Story (2012 - Windows Phone): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bsYE0FwHv4 Crimson Dragon (XBOX 360 version): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Amxk3yozjKk
With luck the Japanese release will have the original music score back again. Why did they change it anyway?
Bump. Still would LOVE to have the retail trial game for this. Would probably convince me to buy a Kinect for real.
