It's a US power supply. The reason I knew that the moment I saw the photos was that it only has 4 pins on the PSU output - so not PAL (the PAL supplies have an 5th output pin used to supply 9V for SCART switching) - so it was either US or Japanese - but it has a black case and a black power button, so it had to be a US machine.

Incidentally, that "4 pin" thing only works that way round - all the early machines had 5 pin power supplies, so you can't infer that "5 pin = PAL / 220V".

No there is no video because the saturn is missing a ribbon cable.
Step 2 is finding one. But where ?

    The saturn works !

I was suprised to see that you can set the language on a ntsc console.

Now i need a ribbon cable.
I also need to mod the console so that it plays pal games.

There's no need to mod - just burn PAL game as NTCS (patch before burn) and load via swap trick :)

Hold on there. We are not out of the Woods yet.
I tried to play a audio cd on the saturn but it doesn't spin the cd.
I think this is because the ribbon cable is missing.

Swap with what ? I don't have any saturn games. This is my first saturn ever. :)

Looking on ebay for ribbon cables gave 0 results so i think i have to buy another broken system for parts.

i had a Sega Saturn ribbon cable problem a few years ago and some members of a electronic forum suggested that i could buy a 22 Way and cut off 1 conductor on each end giving me a 21 Way ribbon cable................

just a suggestion if you cant find a exact one

No ribbon means the laser won't do much of anything.

Those cables from segastyle are too short !!
I need a ribbon cable for a model 2 ntsc saturn. So that needs to be 21 pins .
But how long and wide does it needs to be ?

Depends, is it a 32 or 64 pin? 32 pin Saturns use a ribbon that's ~4" IIRC. Shoot me a PM and I may have one for you. Shipping a tiny ribbon across the pond shouldn't cost much and it'll be the right size.
