    ...

These games, all programmed in Taiwan by small outfits, have been dumped already (and most have GoodGen entries). The kicker is, the ones you mention either need to be patched or otherwise modified in order to run correctly in most emulators (aside from HazeMD, which supports their protection natively).

Alternatively, the games you mention have been modified by Chinese hackers to have their protection routines modified or removed completely, and these dumps are available from certain Chinese ROM sites.

That looks like the 3rd version of the one I posted at the begining of this thread. I'm sure I played this as a ROM somewhere. I'll have a check tonight if nobody else posts anything.

When I was in Russia they also were selling some original Megadrive games, some obscure Alkaida and Iraq war games with Bin Laden and Sadam on the box. The ones I bought all did not work they were very crappy produced!

I have the Capcom's Tenchi wo Kurau II, but the plastic version and with manual. The game is very playable and funny.

I have some more of those chinese games, I'll try to post them in this post as soon I got time to spare.

Very interesting post actually. Gotta love MD, really! Thx Yakumo!

Yes, the Chinese original games are actually very interesting as you said. Most play pretty well too. I once had a cart only of Mulan that wasn't too bad however it got sold to a fellow gamer who just had to have it.

Lots of Chinese games are produced in Taiwan or China for educational 8-bit/16-bit consoles. Some come as pack-ins, and some are sold ala-cart (sorry for the pun). Most of the well polished games that could actually "sell" as legit games, are RPGs with all dialog in Chinese, and usually having a story revolving around some kind of historical period. San Guo Yan Yi is a popular topic for instance.

Does www.assembergames.com allow users to upload images, or do you need to host them yourself? I'd post some pictures myself if not for the hosting issues.

ok I'll be buying that cart coz it's probably going to be a hoot (doesn't matter how well it plays).

another game I'm picking up from the same seller - anyone know anything about this? I think it's a bomberman rip off but there's nothing online about it:

I wouldn't be supprised if it were a rip/hack of "Bomb Jack". Most Chinese multi-carts have that game for some reason, and I've seen numerous variations on the name.

    I have that one too.

Its either a different sticker variant of one of the 2 decent beat em ups I posted earlier..or its a very crappy 1 on 1 fighter...

Edit..just found this piccie I took ages ago to show someone the 2 decent scrolling fighters..and the chinese fighter 3 cart isn't one..so crappy 1 on 1 fighter iirc. (Actually you can see it in the second piccie..3rd row, far right)

I think bomboy is a bomberman copy/clone, not 100% sur though. regardless if you get it and don't want/like it drop me a pm and I'll take it off you.

Has anyone ever seen the super mario world port listed on this page?
    http://tsuru.tri6.net/sp/pachi/mdpachi.htm
I doubt it would happen to be that super mario 2 thing I see you have wheela. Most pirates I've seen have been dumped but I've yet to see this mario world port out there yet. I also read years ago about a kirby's super star port as well. It was mentioned along with a pokemon stadium game, which I know is dumped, so it must not be made up :p

excellent! still gonna pick it up, just because it's an original unlicenced game.

you have an awesome collection - there's a few I've seen for sale locally I'm eyeing - soul calibur, tekken tag and a few more.

Cheers. Old piccie though so i do have more...Sonic 6, Ghost Hunter are the ones I remember right now.

If you get or see a spare Soul Calibre let me know, hint hint. In fact if you ever have MD pirates for sale, or see ones you could buy for me that I want/don't have, please do drop me a line. I'm always happy to chat MD pirates, always happy to buy if they're 'original' and I don't have them, and a nice fat commision is cool too!

no problem in acquiring these games for you, just note that it's been years now since they've come with boxes - they're cart only in the vast majority of cases.

I've been mulling over delving into hacks and such for the older systems - will probably sell them regularly on ebay - not to make a any kind of money (not likely to be lucrative, lol), just to be able to maintain the hobby going (and maybe a little on the side).

there's a bunch of things I have no idea what they are for megadrive - such as Resident Evil and Lord of the Rings. then there's also Tekken vs Virtua Fighter. this is all lolworthy stuff. pm me with some of your wants if you wish.

the one I'm keen on getting boxed (I might be able to pick it up loose) is Megaman X3 for megadrive.

edit - the game was soul edge not soul calibur. sorry about that.

This is probably the Lord of the Rings pirate you're talking about
    http://www.geocities.jp/rinkaku89/pachigame2/49_md_lord.html
Probably based off one of thsoe tekken pirates no doubt:rolleyes:

If it's not too much trouble I'd love if you can tell me if you ever see that mario world cart, or kirby, or practically anything based on a popular franchise that's not dumped yet. I'd certainly be in the market to buy it off you, though of course since you said its all cart only it may be hard to tell what's on there. I have the same super mario bros cart wheela has, but the label looks like the same one off the mario world cart, so the label isn't enough to go by :(

that is great stuff on the LOTR issue - thanks alot! looks like I'll be picking it up.
Resident Evil is a mystery though.

yeah I'll check around for the Mario World 'port' - looks interesting to say the least.

I know Nuke Dukem 3D was released by tectoy but I can also get that on pirate. lol. is that common in pirate form?

    edit: http://myworld.ebay.com/hack_island
    watch this space. lol.

btw - famicom multicarts go for ridiculous amounts. kind of silly.

How crazy? If Famicom multi-carts go for crazy money, then I could make millions in no time! Just ask family in China to goto any game stall, pick up games for $1, then resell them for big \($_$)/

    :)
