We do pretty much the same, but (mainly because of our genetic tendency to), we end up giving smuggling one or two gifts. I gave my very gaming-obsessed nephew Devil May Cry and Final Fantasy XII. He was quite happy. I made my girlfriend two paintings. She liked them. I hope she lets me scan them or take a pic of them later so I can show them to you. My girlfriend gave me a pair of Sennheiser PMX-200 earphones, which is the first wrapped Christmas gift I have received from someone in a couple of years. I think one of my favourite gifts is that, from Dec 21st (End of the official semester in Mexico) this is my first actual complete vacation since December 2004.
hmmm I got some Hugo Boss hairgel, with a deodorant at the side, and a cloths gift certificate and that made my christmas. To my neigbours daughter, I gave her a brand new music keyboard, for about 40 quids (yeah 400 kroner isn´t 40 quids, but it is damn close). And my neighbour still thinks it is damn weird, that I gave her that present, but well back then I just had the 400 to burn, so why not give her that present. But he feels weird, since she is 15. And I am 24, but I am NOT in love with her or anything, I just felt I wanted to give something, she would be glad about, since she is an intelligent girl, and quite talented, so why not give her something she can use ? So that is what I gave her And it was a smashing jul Yakumo-sama I think Japan helds jul instead of christmas, since jul is held the 24. of December, instead of Christ mass. And well the Japanese people are pagan , so why not celebrate jul then ? Or perhaps I am babbling a bit. But that could might be it. XerdoPwerko: I have told you, that Sennheiser earphones are great
"My family doesn't exchange gifts, we don't buy into the commercialism of the holiday. We celebrate it as it used to be, a quiet day with family." I do agree there is too much commercialism, but it doesn't mean a few gifts can't be exchanged. I'll concede and say that if you're worrying too much about gifts during this time, then you've probably been sucked into the commercialist aspect of society's take on the holidays. Family DOES matter. =) As for me... Specialized brand Mountain Bike - $329 (I list the price not to boast, but as a measure of the bike's quality/whatever. I know little about bikes in general, but I am extremely pleased to have this nimble one to ride from point A to point B on.) Asked for this. Metal Slug Anthology (Wii), specifically asked for this. Blazer (green/blue) didn't ask for, but cool nonetheless AirSoft pistol and slingshot, didn't ask for, probably won't use, so I may just return it to my brother (who gave it to me) as he'll have more fun with it. I didn't really have anything in mind when thinking about gifts this year. I guess paying for all my Wii stuff last month negated any stinging desire that I usually get at this time of the year. This is my last "normal" Christmas as I see it. Next year, I'll be at the University of I Don't Know Yet Because Admissions Hasn't Informed Me... Not to say I can't visit my family, but school has had a way of making everything relevent to it. The people and places of school in my past years have helped form me.
